Can anybody explain to me why bukkit is not addopting the 1.4 version that is out there on the web somewhere hidden in the dark where nobody can find it which is actually a modded 1.3.2 that is working flawless with all our plugins even better then the 1.3.1 R1 was? This would be alot nicer towards the community as well as give you a little time to actually write some good code instead of f*****g up bigtime again just like with 1.3.1.
Or another question, maybe even a better one, why the hell is there an update now button in minecraft?
Why is mojang so stupid to first implement an update now button, and then let bukkit write a new version instead of the other way around? Cant they wait? do they really have to ruin the 95% of servers that cant find the patches 1.3.2 version in time to spare their players? our server nearly died today.. thanks mojang! good job! again..
This is seriously ridiculous, and i am a customer, im not playing cracked so i have the right to complain (about Mojang that is, not bukkit because i can understand that without enough time, you guys screw up)

Well, i really hope, this time you guys will take your time instead of writing another craftbukkit that kills people and let peoples inventory dissapear into the void! or merges our players with cobblestone (which is still happening by the way). We can wait another month, even two hell, even 6! just dont come up with something like you guys did with 1.3, and frikin release the 1.3.2 patched version instead of letting the community do that as a temporary solution, seriously i dont get it! put the damn download onto your site, write next to it extremely experimental version, use at your own risk (even though something is telling me that this version is waaaay more safe for use then your R1 will be..)
I have some really strange feeling we might be using the 1.3.2 updated version till craftbukkit 1.4.2 R2 or R3... cus i already know whats going to happen, though in my oppinion bukkit should have come with this solution instead of letting someone else do it. because it IS a good solution, a temporary fix to repair the complete failure of Mojang and gain a little time to write bukkit 1.4 nicely instead of having to hurry the hell up.

Respect to the bukkit team though,
Hoping that my guess is wrong! Please dont hurry! take your time! drink a coffee, and take a good night rest! you need it!

You won't find any support for hacked 1.3 servers here because they are ugly hacks that crash players. We don't support modifications to craftbukkit, especially if they're unstable.

Mojang has released 1.4.2, which is working fine, and a 1.4.2 server which is working fine. Bukkit is not a Mojang product, nor do they depend on it. Nor do all servers depend on it; plenty of servers run unmodified servers (no craftbukkit). It is not their job to wait on hobby projects to update before releasing a minecraft update.

If you have bugs to report in craftbukkit use the issue tracker don't complain here.

Also there's pretty much always been an update button. Before that, it'd just update on you.

That is a 1.3/1.4 hybrid, all it allows is for 1.4 clients to log on the server, all of the 1.4 features are not implemented. The developers of Bukkit work really hard and a tedious amount of hours, they truly try to get the build out as fast as possible, but the team of few needs to re-write code and test it to make sure it is something that is satisfactory for everyone. So sometimes, it takes a while, no big deal, right?

I am not looking for support, i am just wondering why you guys dont support it, its not fair to the servers that are running behind, this happened to us the last time and i made sure it didnt happen again, we lost half of our regulars that way we went from 70+ players down to 8 players, then after the update back to 70+ players today, isnt it obvious why? Everyone clicked on update now!
You dont want to know how many people were skyping me how to downgrade! they dont know any better.
It might be a hacked version, it might crash a player every once a while, but i rather have my players crash, then them lose their entire inventory because they fall out of a world. If thats whats called a recommended build then this should be called the same, i hate to say it.
Im really not blaming bukkit though im blaming Mojang, first they hire the bukkit team, and then they do it again, they release an update, before Bukkit is finished, like they dont care at all, its really bad, i know there is something called vanilla, but if you ask me vanilla should be replaced by bukkit completely, why waste time on vanilla?! its basically the same, but without the possibilities to mod, why make the same thing twice?
They hired the bukkit team, so they should wait for them, maybe they could release, but then dont provide an update button untill bukkit is done.

Oh well, our players are happy :), we have a damn stable server, just as yesterday, no problems at all, not a single crash either.
Not a single plugin failure, nothing, i wonder how the R1 is going to be...
I hope the bukkit team takes its time, they are good, but shouldnt hurry!

Well, no its no big deal, what on the other hand is a big deal is Mojang.
Mojang that is to eager to push the new version onto the players.
Push it really nasty with a button that pops up, we are talking about gamers here, at least half of them is not a system admin. they dont know that when they click that button they cant join their server anymore.
They start complain to the server owners, its all our fault that they push that button.
If Mojang could have waited then there was no problem.

The bukkit team truly is amazing, im not saying they arent, because they are.
I really have respect for them, but i think they should provide a temporary fix when it is already available anyway.
It is not fair to all the other servers, its not!
Also i dont want them to do things as soon as possible, they better take their time.
If you hurry with something you mess up, thats normal.
But Mojang is letting them hurry, thats what is frustrating me.
Searching for a very well hidden file, that seems to have been removed everywhere, thats what makes me mad.
I have been searching for 2 days and all the links are either dead or removed.
Im not going to post one here either because i know its against the rules but in my oppinion the bukkit developers should do it!

edit: ps i did read your reply, twice. you have a point though an empty server vs one that kills the clients when they use new blocks, you take a pick huh?

I don't understand why Mojang is to be blamed either, though. They're a company, that develops a video game. They update it whenever they like. Bukkit isn't a part of the real game, so there is no reason why Mojang should HAVE to wait for Bukkit to update as well. On another note, they didn't rush 1.4.2 either, they took their time with various pre-released, which also give everyone time to update their game modifications, texture packs, etc...
