    RAM: 1.5GB
    vSwap: 1.5GB
    Bandwidth: 1.5TB
    Disk: 150GB
Location: As close to UK as possible (but not too worried)
VPS System: Currently using OpenVZ but open to alternatives

Price: £15 per month (24.0375 US dollars)

Pretty sure it's a very good deal, just wondering if I can do any better (especially with RAM).

They're located in usa and the HDD is only 30gb ($8 more for 130gb total)
    But it's nearly $10 cheaper.

we use them for server hosting and they are amazing. great support, uptime really is 99.9% but idk about their vps, never tried it.

Are you only looking for price or did you want something remotely reliable?

You should be looking for a Xen or KVM VPS, OpenVZ has a variety of issues with Minecraft.

The best host I came across that was cheap at the same time was www.fpsbox.com
I guarantee you'll have no lag at all, their servers are fast, realiable and cheap.. in one word awesome.

Is it Netherlands or USA? xD

They have servers in both, the US servers are at 100mbs while the netherlands are at 1000mbs, I NEVER notice lag and have a ping of 70 on my server :p

Edit: Nooo my affiliate link D: isn't this an exception because it is a recommendation of things :(

Recommending the site is good enough. No need to bring affiliate links into the mix.

I mean, I'll just leave this here... http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/dotvps-grammar-fail.48421/
My purpose in posting stuff like this is not to try and convince people to switch hosts, but for me professionalism tells all when dealing with hosting. Security, privacy, etc. are all really important to me, maybe all you're looking for is a good connection and there's nothing wrong with that, but I can't bring myself to trust something like this.

I see what you mean, but everyone has screwups, Apple the other day sent me an email that said there was a new iPhone, but all I saw was a photoshopped 4S, on a serious note, I think DotVPS is a fine service, though there is no company that is 100% perfect as far as I know. And if you want powerful, fast, and cheap hardware/connections, then this is a great company to look at.

Well, I was more referring to the actual replies left by the CEO of the company on that thread. They are... less than flattering. In any case I have actually used the service and I can agree that it does provide sufficient hosting; if I were to base my image of the company off their actual product, it would be a lot better than if it were based off how their employees act. Something like that... does not instill a great feeling of confidence or trust.

I agree, I really despise their customer service, anyway considering I don't need it very often I could care less, the connection is good, the hardware is good, and there is little downtime, all good for me

Haha, actually, I think I might have a candidate for worst support: alienvps.com

I filed a few high-priority tickets with them occasionally because when my site was hosted there it just shut down some days and booting it would say it booted, but then not actually boot. I would file a ticket, and the not-booting would go on for about a day or two, then randomly fix itself. About 6 days later, I would (sometimes) get a reply telling me there was some kernel issue that they fixed. Helpful.

Actually, out of the 5 tickets I filed with them, two of them were left unanswered at all, and one of them (a general inquiry, not a problem) took exactly 40 days to receive a reply answering my question. Not goooooddd...

Surprising that let them take your money, I would not of stuck with anyone who did that to me, it is one this to be harsh, but another to just flat out IGNORE a paying customer.

Needless to say I'm not a customer of theirs any longer.

Would hope so, who currently hosts you?

I've got stuff scattered all over; I'm constantly switching hosts. My only absolute right now is my Jenkins server, which has been at GoDaddy despite my distaste for that particular company as well; I need some power behind it to keep it up 24/7 for people.

Whats wrong with OpenVZ? I been using it for months and its never let me down?

There is nothing wrong with OpenVZ, the part that goes wrong is the provider overselling. I recommend Xen for that reason, no overselling.

This thread kind of got out of control. I'm curious as to why I didn't receive any alerts actually...
Regardless, I actually went with RamNode in the end, as a Bukkit member was able to give me a promo cod. Thanks for all the responses though.

    Nothing really.

It is just bad for Java and Minecraft, due to the way it allocates RAM to the containers.
