Should I delete my vanilla minecraft server after making a bukkit server?

I was just wondering if still having the vanilla server will mess up the bukkit one. Should I just delete it (i don't use it anymore) I've been having problems portforwarding my bukkit server (my friends can't join) and I was wondering if this is the reason why. I'm pretty sure both servers are on the port 25565 so this might be the problem... please reply. Thanks!
btw, i use the same world from the vanilla server for the bukkit one.

 

You can delete minecraft_server.exe (or .jar), craftbukkit does not use it to function.
I keep it so I can test whether some bugs are in minecraft or also vanilla, but that's really the only use for me.

 

question: I am new to Bukkit and I am having a hard time trying to get my Vanilla world to migrate to Bukkit.....any help is appreciated
