I looked at a video about it by Woompagaming and they said you have to pay like $22 a month just to make 10+ packages and/or commands?

It's a 6 month payment, not per month. Fairly reasonable considering how useful it is IMO.

Well, how many total packages and permission slots do you get fro freeusers cause I dont have any money to upgrade until I get donations.

    erm, not sure :p

however I highly recommend you give it a shot, hey once you get donations flowing through then you can consider about upgrading, which is 210% worth every penny!

you can find more details on the free version through their website.

yes I do but unfortunately I am dedicated to buycraft, thus only promoting buycraft. I am sorry, you will need to use your best-friend named google to find your needs.

well thats what i heared unless the info was out dated

  12. Darkvoltage3 BuyCrafts pricing structure has changed alot since it has become popular, it use to be around 3.50 GBP for lifetime however it has changed and its now 13.99 GBP for 6 months of BuyCraft Premium

  13. No idea where you heard that it is a rip off, I'm the owner of the plugin and would say it has a very good reputation and no complaints. Many highly ranked servers and moderators of this forum use the plugin too.

yea its a very great plugin, but I cant stand the fact that you have to basicly pay money to get money I did try out the free version and it said you could only do up to 2 packages and 5 commands [Face palm] I mean the plugin is probley the best donation plugin out their but I just dont see why it cant be free or atleast a lower price or, or you should make it to were BuyCraft gets 30% or 50% of the donation that was bought?

BuyCraft is a legitimate site, and quite handy to use if you like giving back to your players for donations. Of course, they have costs too, and their fees are really reasonable.

I got it when it was first released, so it could of changed since then in order for them to make some money. Personally, I think paying $5/month would be reasonable for the service they provide. Also, if you have that set up you are for sure going to make at least $5 to pay it off each month.

idk I may look into it, once I get enough donations to make it last for a year which shouldnt be to hard :p

Sometimes it's just worth putting the money down instead of waiting for donations. If you do your work right, the cost will be covered in the future.

You also have to pay money for your server, which you receive no return donations upon until after you've paid for it. Business owners in almost all instances spend money to make money. Spending money for software that earns you money in return isn't exactly an alien concept. In fact, the hosting company you host your server with is probably using WHMCS(Automatically Billing, ticket support, etc(compare that to Buycraft)), which, once again, is spending money before they make money.

There are alternatives to Buycraft, some of which I believe are free, but none of them actually offer the same level of features as Buycraft. There's a reason it's the most popular donation plugin, as well as why people are willing to pay for it.

Because lmc put a ton of work into the entire system, and will hopefully continue to :))). He has to pay for all of the overhead, as well -- It's not free to continue running BuyCraft.

No one would ever use it. That's is such a ridiculously high cut... Any cut in general would deter many of users, myself included.

A one-time (or biannual) fee is a much better deal for you.

You gotta spend money to make money.

Yes. I think it's kinda odd that people expect donations to be made before they actually release a product. Unless they show a very good product that is able to build up a serious amount of hype, they may be able to attract some money. However, I have not seen that in the Minecraft community.

If you are serious about a project and can't afford the initial costs for a "complete server", scrape a bit of money together and upgrade gradually. If you do it right, people will speak with their wallets.

  29. Pfft, taking a percentage cut? No way. Wouldn't ever do it. This is a reason why a certain competitor of Buycraft will never be successful. (Not enjin btw).

Does one necessarily need a plugin for donations? I just use the user upgrades on my xenforo forums and I get a push notification on my iPhone when I get the funds. I can usually rank the person within a a few hours if not immediately. I think BuyCraft is geared toward servers which generate frequent donations, since you can't always be available to rank and stuff. I think the worst part of server is the fact that people are starting them up with the sole purpose of making money. That definitely did not happen last year, donations are a huge parts of servers nowadays. While Im not saying I don't profit from donations, it was never my intent to net money off of a game for fun. The OP should start his server and run it for fun then allow donations, not start up and require donations or else it goes down. It takes time to get donations just like it takes time to get loyal players. I started hosted from home in june 2011 and still today I host from home without a problem.
