Hey guys I can't get my Bukkit server opened to friends, I can join it just fine, but my friends can't, I'm doing this through portforward btw but I can only join it if I leave the "Server Ip" in "Server.properties" blank, when I try to put in my IP address I get an error message saying [WARNING] **** FAILED TO BIND TO PORT!
[WARNING] The exception was: java.net.BindException: Cannot assign requested address: JUM_Bind
[WARNING] Perhaps a server is already running on that port?

Which ITS NOT!!! I checked my task manager no other server is running, no one else in my house knows these kings of things and doesn't even play Minecraft! I even did a restart and still no success
I've checked my Firewall I shut it off, my anti-virus isn't running and I've looked through the portforward settings

25565/25565 UDP/TCP right??? I've portforward on my router and modem and I'm just not sure if the portfowarding is even working!!! Please Help!

    Additional information
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-BIT
Everything works just fine with Hamachi but now that I'm trying to portfoward its not!!!!

I'm sorry to say, but you've port forwarded it wrong.

When I leave it blank the server does run but I have no ip address to give to my friends to let them connect unlike I can do with Hamachi.

What do you mean you have no IP? You can find your external IP address from your router info page or with some web sites such as http://whatismyipaddress.com/

So just leave the server-ip blank, do the port forwarding in your router, find out your external IP from http://whatismyipaddress.com and check if the port forwarding works with the sites I linked in the previous post (server needs to be running at that point).

I give my friends the external IP address and they still can't connect, the port is being blocked and idk why :/ nor do I know how to unblock it.

Ok so, you have a network connection something like:
internet -> modem -> router -> PC (server)
    right?

Then you should forward the minecraft server port (default 25565) TCP and UDP in both your modem and your router, and make sure your firewall does not block it either. So you are kind of forming a path from the internet all the way to your server PC. In case of the modem, you should forward the port to the external IP (the "side facing the modem") of the router. And in the router, you should forward the port to the IP of your server PC. I would suggest enabling static DHCP in your router for the PC so that the PCs IP address won't change and mess up the port forwarding in the future. Same thing with the modem and the router if it is possible in your configuration/case.

Go into your default gateway and by figuring that out go to start then go to run or search cmd and in cmd type ipconfig then go to default gateway then enter your default gateway then if a username and password show up the username may be admin and the password is either password or nothing by default and it should show your ip on the next page.
