  1. ok, so i run a small minecraft server so that me and my friends and my brother and his friends can play on together. i went on today to find that the server had been griefed.

i have world guard and have created regions for important places, however there are a few places i haven't got around to setting up regions for yet and these are the places that were griefed.

i'm thinking about installing the bigbrother plugin (or a similar plugin) to stop this happening in the future but im unsure about installing mySQL to run them. thing is, i gont have masses of RAM to chuck at it. the server has 1.5GB of ram overall and the server hovers around 500MB once the minecraft server is running.

i want to know weather mySQL would be able to log the place and destroy actions of up to 10 players with only 500MB to play with. the server is rebooted daily(full OS power cycle) and there usually isn't more that 2-3 players on at a time, 4-5 at the weekend

is big brother still active even? dont bother with big brother or mysql for that matter.your server is small like mine.just use coreprotect or logblock(i like coreprotect cuz its easy to use) and forget about setting up mysql

    I keep an updated copy :p http://h31ix.net/plugins/BigBrother.jar

It's hard to say whether it's a good idea to install MySQL. Just give it a try and if it doesn't work or crashes, try something else.

I recommend you to use Prism. If that doesn't work for you, use CoreProtect ;)
