I have been using BackUp and it causes problems everytime right after the backup. (The world freezes, everyone get's disconnected). Is there another backup plugin that is updated and works better?

Backup worked fine with under 10 people playing, but now that I have 30~ people on at a time, the server just freezes.

Why use a Bukkit plugin, written in Java, for such a mundane, typical OS-level job like backups? A single line in a batch file and a simple cron job do the trick much faster and without freezing anything.

Yes... Why use a plugin when you can simply write a script yourself with batch files and cron jobs? Duh.

But if you're just a normal person like everyone else, use Minebackup. You can set how many saves to keep before overwriting old saves, which worlds you want saved, whether they're compressed or just copied (to save CPU).

Only thing is when restoring a backup, it saves the contents of the world folder, not the actual world folder itself so you have to stop the server, delete or move the contents of the bad world's folder, then copy the backup folder's contents to the world folder.

Otherwise you'll litter your server's root directory with .dat files and region folders if you just unzip a backup into the root directory.
