Chunks not saving when leaving memory?

I'm no expert in whats going on in the background for Minecraft, but here's what appears to be happening. We are playing on build 2329, and the only plugins we having running are Dynmap and Safe-Creeper.

Sometimes, we are having sections of our world revert back. For example:

I mined a large portion out underneath area by my base. I then hopped into the nether, when over to someone else's base (tunnel network in nether) and then went back. I still had all the items that I had mined...but mine it self was all back to normal.

I have another player that is trying to move his stuff from his old base to his new one. He empties all his chests, hops in a nether portal, comes out at his new base, unloads his inventory, goes back to his old base...and all his stuff is back. Duplicated...cause its still at his new base as well.

What appears to be happening (IMO) is when the chunk leaves memory it's not getting saved to hard disc, so when they go back it has reverted to when ever the last time it HAS saved. Anyone know whats causing this?

    EDIT: https://bukkit.atlassian.net/browse/BUKKIT-2229

I see that bug report, that seems to be similar to the issue I'm experiencing, especially the comments.

Anyone have a quick and dirty fix for this? A plugin that forces a /save before entering a nether portal, /tp, dying, or logging off perhaps?

For anyone else that has this issue and finds this post:
