    Im thinking of getting this.

    • RAM:
      16GB DDR3 ECC
    • Hard Drive:
      500GB SATA
    • Uplink Port Speed:
      100mbps
    • Bandwidth:
      5000GB
    • Operating System:
      CentOS 5.8 - 32 Bit
    • IP Addresses:
      8 IPs (5 Usable)
    • Backup (NAS):
      5gb NAS
    • KVM Over IP:
      IPMI 2.0 with integrated
    • Im planning on having a PVP server with atleast 60 players and around 20-30 plugins, will this do?

16GB of RAM, great! ...but only using a 32bit OS?
You're basically limiting yourself to 4GB...
While centos can use more than 4GB of memory on 32bit, it can only give 4GB per process, so bukkit(or more correctly the Java VM) will have 4GB max to use.

In terms of number of players... lots?
It depends on CPU speed as well, also the plugins themselves rather than the number of them, but you should be able to host 60 slots without lag.
    Maybe even 100.

Would a Windows 2008 Web Edition (64bit) or (32bit) change that?

if not what would you recommend For what im looking for
100Slot Server With about 2-30 Plugins with no lag.

Any Dedicated Host You Would Recommend?

Id recommend any 64bit linux server, centos, debian even ubuntu server.
Also I believe Windows 32 will limit the entire machine to 3.5GB, 64bit allows for a few hundred GB of ram, (cant remember specifics).

If you want to host locally it's best to probably set up a server rack, basically adding hardware as needed... there is no way I can tell you what you would need to host 100 slot server without lag.
CPU wise though, get the highest possible speed you can get, bukkit isn't multicore compatible so just go for the highest speed.
(Plugins can run on seperate threads though, so ensure it isn't single core :p)

I don't know of any hosting, only ever hosted locally. (not a large server though)

    P
Well what processor is it? We need that info for it also. As for a host, 100% Limestone Networks. They are amazing. I get ticket responces in 36 seconds! They are one of the best hosts ever IMO

  6. I'd trade some RAM for an upgrade to SSD. You really only need 8GB of RAM.
