A new CraftBukkit Recommended Build (1.3.1-R1.0) that provides Minecraft 1.3.1 compatibility is now available.

Important information about this first Recommended Build following a Minecraft update:
The first Recommended Build, as always, is a slightly more polished development build that we're promoting to a Recommended Build so that people who rely on a Recommended Build being available can try out our development builds and decide if they want to use them.

Will plugins break with this build?
Provided the developers of the plugins you are using are keeping up with the development of Bukkit, all your plugins should work fine.

    Download CraftBukkit 1.3.1-R1.0 here

Agreed so much, the Bukkit team works hours a day on it (when a new version is released), if I could I would help them by code. People are so ungraceful these days /:

i really want to thank CB for releasing a build but sadly i'm very mad. Its cool that most of the plugins i used already worked right away with out start up errors and i was happy to see that, only about 6 plugins needed updates or removal on start up. But now that i've been using it for a couple and days (sadly can't turn back cause used most of the new blocks in new spawn & worlds are 1.3.1 Generated. Also Server host updates the jars and i don't have control over that) I can't do any big things until a stable build is released. I think you should have left of the recommended build tbh. But i hope you can get this ironed out! All i can say is, reconnect, disconnect, reconnect, disconnect!

Some hosting providers, chmod their jars, so the users cannot edit it - for security reasons.

Some hosts might do - but not all. He should contact his server provider, and ask for it.

Amen! Let the child find another game project more suitable to its temper tantrums. At least it will be one less poster adding meaningless and unproductive crap in these forum. Rest assured EvilSeph, there are many of us watching from different walks of life and business that appreciate and recognize the level of effort you and others have, and continue to, put into this project.

I've had a Nether-related issue with any of the 1.3.1 builds I've tried so far. When I go to the Nether, my levels visually get reset to 0. If I log off and back on, the experience bar and level text goes back to the correct level. Also, both times I've been to the Nether so far, I've spontaneously caught fire while riding on a minecart track.

Fixed :) One plugin became incompatible with the rest of them and i've had to recode it from the ground up.

The lag spikes aren't from the world generating because I'm having the same issues and my world fully generated by utilizing http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/worldborder/

I recommend this very nifty plugin, here is how my world looks, 2,000 radius from spawn..

I'm still getting the v1.3.1 Bukkit RB lag like everyone else, so let's steer the witch hunt away from world rendering as a potential culprit.

My world has ~20 plugins with no errors in console but the lag is quite apparent, greenbay.gbunetwork.com
Server usually has 10-25 users and it's spec'd for 64. I've tried 1.3.1 RB and (24) 1.3.1 dev builds, still suffering from lag.

World with Bukkit Dev #2326 (and no plugins), greenbay.a2g.gs

Quick question, i'm starting another server its going to be a fresh start with MC 1.3.1. I would like to take advantage of the new large biomes world type. But i'm not sure how or where to specify what world type to generate for an SMP server. Could someone please help. Thank you in advance.

    In server.properties include
    level-type=LARGEBIOMES

    instead of
    level-type=DEFAULT

So I've had 20+ people on my (64-player) server since launching v1.3.1, this morning there are only 4 and they are saying there is no lag whatsoever. That's discouraging.. this is sounding less and less like a simple fix.

I should also mention not all of my plugins have been updated for v1.3.1 so hopefully that's a cause, I'll post my findings.

Nope, the company i'm using has not let us use a custom jar and the jar is not in the server folder so we can't just change it our selves. But i have tested the latest build on my computer and voxelsniper is really laggy for me. That is what i need at this time.

    Because reading is hard.

It anonymously collects data about your computer (operating system, graphics card, etc) so Mojang can know things like what platforms need to be better optimized. It can be disabled if you choose.

This is also completely unrelated to CraftBukkit.

Seems like TPS is greatly effected by the amount of chunks loaded.
In 1.2.5 builds chunks loaded seemed to only effect memory usage and CPU and didn't effect TPS, atleast as much.

Currently using Bukkit 1.3.1 #2322 and there doesn't seem to be TPS drops any longer. However, there seems to be some block lag, sometimes I'll place 2 or 3 blocks and a second later they'll disappear.

The build #2322 provides no lag on our end. We tested yesterday with 12 players, with all usual plugins enabled and everything was very smooth for everyone involved! Thanks for your hard work, it is appreciated even if it's not always obvious!

I think something is not unloading correctly, Why do I get 20 tps for about 1hour. Then it unexpectedly drops to 3tps after that. Is that suppose to be normal....? -.-

I'm sorry, but I have another question. My server was working fine before the update, but now it doesn't. And I will probably sound really stupid for saying this, but what do you mean by "is your client updated?," what exactly is my client. Thanks a ton bukkit staff! you guys make life more fun.

your client is the program/jva app you play with it means if your client is updated to 1.3 or what ever'

yea i get 20tps with like 20 to 30 ppl and out of nowhere tps drop like crasy 15 etc and what not '

Try having a 150/150 server :( Laggy as hell with or without plugins.

Looks like 2322 removed the lag peaks.

Even if my 1.2.5 plugins still work fine with 1.3 and there are no errors should i bother to update them? Is there any benefit to updating them to 1.3 version?

Also, im using the 1.3 rec build and my anti cheat plugins dont seem to work well. They usually accuse players even though they dont have any mods. Is this because of the lag?

    YES!

Especially chat related ones! I found that updating Essentials and EssentialsChat (my chat management plugins) has reduced a lot of the lag/command lag!
