With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

thanks lol I just started reading this so I didn't really look at the other pages

  6. If you have the Multi Craft control panel, just move your current files to a folder in the root like Bukkit 1.2.5 Files and move ALL your current files into it. Then shut down your server, change the .jar to the Minecraft 1.3.1 jar and reboot. Hope this helps...

No problem. I've been in this thread since about page 15 or so. It's been a heck of a ride waiting for 1.3, telling Bukkit Team they rock, and thwarting as many entitled twits as a being can tolerate without smashing screens :)

Im just wondering if you can tell me the date of bukkit 1.3.1 because we just brought a server hoster on sunday and we have 35 people on and some have donated and we don't want to lose them/sued

I'd like to see an unidentified flying object drink something. Monkey skulls and Milwaukee don't matter. UFO's drinking things would be an interesting sight.

The point is, the Bukkit Team CANNOT give a DIRECT time or date when it will be ready. Because they are WORKING on it currently as HARD as they can to get it done and done right.

So when folks ask a silly question (answered 1000's of times already) like "When is it comin' OOUUUT"
They get a silly response like lime% or Potato! Get it?

Seriously people. This thread has 62 pages and counting , and EACH and every PAGE answers this and just about any other question on this matter.

I am only here for the punishment and I like to watch paint peel. I can wait for 1.3 allll nigh....Zzzzzzzzz

    What dose Orangutan mean.

  20. Nobody knows when it will be a stable update. If I were you, I'd run a temporary vanilla server and grant the donors OP status until the real update.

Ok, so one, a billion people have been asked the same question, and NO ONE KNOWS. Not even the dev team. They'll tell us when it's done, nothing more, nothing less. Second you can't get sued by the people that donated, because donations are no strings attached, the term donation implies that.

I wish they went for a numerical system similar to the numerical system we the volunteers/teachers used during a special event at MIT... went by processor models and revisions. From vacuum tube make & model up.

Was weird, but still made sense.

It's a craftbukkit server, but i only have access to it through multicraft, all i know is that i changed the jar file to the newest minecraft_server.jar and it still said the server was outdated

yea, that's probably what i'm just going to end up doing when craftbukkit comes out, hopefully soon

  24. I did that too. Luckily my host had the 1.3.1 .jar in the drop down list. If you don't see that, then you probably can't update to a 1.3.1 vanilla server.

This is why VPS hosting is better...

    VNC access, etc.

As far as the issue goes with 1.3.1, you're probably right. Some hosts don't allow "foreign" jars in through Multicraft until they permit it. It's something to prevent security risks (loading up a .jar that essentially fries the CentOS backend of Multicraft, etc.)

  26. I am 12 years old and manage a network server and a gaming network, and not a regular server, dedicated servers for a fairly large hosting company.
    Moreover, no bedtime,

You do have an advantage with VPSen, it is a virtual machine with virtual CPUs and virtual RAM, if you're too many connections, then flip your CPU but is not just from your Virtual Machine.

    Lol, above ^^

Right, too much talk of server hardware and software... back to something relevant!

Does anyone know the item ID for the trip wire mechanism? None of the item lists have updated it. I am mainly thinking that servers that are anti-redstone (wool only pixel art servers, for example.) would want to have the item ID to blacklist it.

  30. I ran a VPS Minecraft server on Amazon's EC2 servers, but I got tired of SSHing into the server.

Side note, this is a screenshot of what I see on the .jar drop down on my host.
