Hello, I'm playing minecraft for like 3 days or something, i think i know the basics but i want to expend my knowledge by doing what i always do with games i play: setting up a server. Tommorrow im renting a Minecraft server and what i'd like to know is: How can i setup a server like when you join, you can get your own kind of "space" where you can build and NOT behind that "space". That I can give someone a sort of space where he can build and not behind that lines. I'd also like to know some nice admin tools or other mods which are nice to use. Possibly the worst advice I've ever seen, especially as the poster isn't even questioning whether or not to rent. The best thing I ever did was rent mine. Setting up your own can be confusing for new owners and it will only be online as long as your PC is, and most computers don't cut it spec-wise. You're so much better off renting. Start with Essentials full from here. PlotMe is a good one for flatlands creative, it divides the map into plots that players can claim. GriefPrevention is good too. Otherwise Towny or Factions are the way to go for letting players manage their own land.

Can someone help me with that or is there a premade map/plugin which already has it? Thx
there are a few plugins designed for city themed servers. they are a bit complicated, but once you know them, they are invalueable. check out factions and towny, see which one is better for your style.
