Architect plugin

I was thinking what plugin would be the most cool to make and I'm comming with this idea:

You could somehow summon (for a fee (iConomy) ) an architect (server controlled player), he would follow you, you would show him some building (and define what block does it contain, this could be done several ways, easiest one for the start by defining rectangular area, marking blocks, or making the building in front of him).

The architect would note that, and specify how much would it cost to save that blueprint (depends on materials, size, block count etc).

When the blueprint is saved, you would summon worker(s).

    a) provide them chest with all the materials and tools they need.
    b) asign them to one of the blueprints you have available
    c) specify the position and rotation of the building

And this is the hardest part:
The building wouldn't just "appear" there, workers could do the same as normal player, they would have to take those tools, to clear the area first and then start making the building block by block, sometimes they would have to place some temporary material to build something etc, like when player builds something, they could work only during day, and they would probably run away or something if attacked by monsters (or you would have to pay some fee if your worker died, protection is up to you).

They would also store all the material they had to clear to build that, you would have to pay them depenidng on the price of the blueprint and the amount of work they done.

This would add another very cool usage of money, so when you have already plenty of everything, you can use it somehow.

If the blueprint definition would be good enough, this plugin would have even more usages, like using blueprints to define mining pattern, and have also miners, that would have defined what stuff do they have to mine when they find it during mining.

This way, minecraft could have immerse late game possibilities, from the frist day when you are hiding in the hidinghole to the castle and town building, up to organising your minions.

Another interesting sideefect of this plugin would be, that blueprients could be saved, and downloaded, so you could share some structers (concepts, redstone circuits, mob traps, rail systems) with other players.

PS. I'm considering making this mod myself although I didn't do any minecraft plugin so far, but this task could be challenging and cool enough to keep me interested :)

I was thinking about this idea even further:

Imagine, that apart the architect, you could hire more proffessions, you would use workers and blueprints for farm, and after that you would hire farmer, and specify which fields should he work on, the salary of the farmer would force you to try to make the effective enough to actually generate profit.

Ok, we have workers, miners farmers, what is missing? You guessed right, soldiers, archesrs swordfighters pig riders, when you start to be rich enough, you can afford to put archers on your castle walls for protection, you can expand and make outpost villages, with less protected farms (workers/farmers/soldiers, would need to have houses to hide at night).

When we have this, we can have server that allows you to start as man hiding in his hiding hole at night, to eventually become landlord and conquier, when you had more ppl playing, they could fight over the land, conquier/defend castles, thinking deeply how to start the economy fast enough (ala bulid orders in starcraft but much more deep, yes I'm also starcraft player ^^), how to make the castle defenses most effective, how to attack, you could have not only soldiers, but soldiers that could acoording to blueprints build tnt cannons and fire tnt at your castle, while you could return the fire, and assing proffesions to repair the castle walls on the fly.

Am I the only one who thinks this would be the best fun and computer game ever?

This would be hard to do, but I still think it is not impossible, give me several months and all this could just happen.

  2. This is an amazing idea. Sadly it is not possible :/ But otherwise that would have been so great.

Actually, now that I think about it... it is possible, I mean tKelly's Herobrine builds stuff... Just making them follow directions would be hard... but all hope is not lost! I think it just might be possible! :D

how about som pre-defined blueprints that the admin can set and just money that can be paid to have it built, with a delay
