I have been running bukkit 1.2.5R1.0 for quite a while. I recently updated to the 1.2.5R4.0 and noticed that the CPU usage has rocketed up and lag makes the server unusable. When I used to start my server it was taking 11sec to fire up, under R4.0 that number jumped to 150sec. In order to troubleshoot I removed ALL plugins and tested, the start time was 135sec. I then tried every build between the current recommended build and the R1.0. What I found was that build #2183 was when it all went bad. With no plugins whatsoever, just a fresh bukkit install #2182 starts in 5sec #2183 starts in 110sec I have this server running on 8 core AMD Operton Processor with 16GB of RAM. It is a dedicated Debian machine with no other applications running. Is there anything I can do that might help in figuring out what happened in build 2183 that has rendered bukkit unusable? Thanks
We have the same problem with R4.0 - R1.0,R2.0,R3.0 and so on... We got a 6 Core AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1055T with 16GB RAM with Linux Debian Squeeze. We also start a vanilla server => all fine ~5-7 % We start a craftbukkit server => All CPU Cores go up to 60 - 80% for one lonely MC Server Do you have a solution yet?
Sometimes I ask myself how it is possible for s/o to ignore whats written and write anything else which doesnt belong to the topic in any way. Is someone out there who has a solution? I found a old backup before Update. Now using R1.3 and working w/o any further problems. EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
Try running with the --nojline option. That should help. I am not sure why jline is causing some select few to have terrible CPU usage. I cannot reproduce on my Linux installs (default settings or otherwise). Do you have an older version of jline in your classpath?
hi I also have a performance problem, I use the version 1.2.5 R4.0 and a few days my cpu uses 100% and more lol I deleted all plugins, and resets bukkit but still in the rest goes to the max cpu. I updated to the latest java 1.6_33, the problem will not disappear. CPU: Core2Quad RAM: 4 GB (2GB for Minecraft dedicated server) When the server starts at the very beginning, all memory and cpu goes to the max. below the screen putty, the server is idle. and Sorry for my English.
Disabling jusched.exe from system startup works for me had constant 80% CPU usage with no players logged in now have 5% and about 30% with 7 players logged in. Am running tekkit server with 39 mods Dual core 2.7ghz 3 gb ram Yay no more lag or server can't keep up. ( apart from when a reactor blows up).
