Ok, So for about, A month or so my server has said "Can't Reach Server"
And before you ask yes i have port forward yes i host it myself with a DomainHost
I have ran my server 24/7 for about 4-5 months but all of a sudden it has just stopped
People can't connect nor can i. I have report forwarded and re domained serveral times
But nothing has change it always goes Polling...Polling...Polling. - Can't Reach Server.
It is quite clear something needs to be changed or fixed. I am not sure what to do i am
nere to giving up as i have been trying for ages to fix this. I have already lost 50% Of
My players and im starting to lose more. I dont want my server to go completely
dead as it was a very big server with many players and great things to do.
So if someone can please help me please do, If it makes it easier add me on skype
    jacob.llewellyn or [email protected] thankyou.

    Open a command prompt and type: telnet <server ip> <server port>
(Note, if you use Vista or Windows 7, you need to add the telnet client in your "Programs and Features". Alternatively, you can use putty).

    For example: telnet mc.myserver.com 25565

If you have forwarded the ports correctly, you should get a blank screen. If you do not have your port forwarded correctly, it will give you a connection timed out.

If you do get a connection, please provide a pastebin of your server.log. At this point, I'd suggest removing ALL your plugins (move all the .jar files into a temporary folder (not in the plugins directory). Try connecting again. If you still have problems, maybe post your IP so someone else can try - you very well might have client mods affecting your ability to join.

    Please provide us this information:
    http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/you-need-help-we-need-this-information-to-help-you.2018/

Take some time to read through this as well:
    http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/troubleshooting-common-problems-with-solution.44590/

Also, twatting us saying our support sucks is really not the best way to get help. Reading the stickies, and providing the information we request will do you far more good than insulting us on twatter. The reason you did not get help was because this is an extremely common problem, with the solutions clearly available when you read through the stickies, or actually do a Google search.

    1. make sure your bukkit server is running

    2. go to http://www.canyouseeme.org/ and enter the port that your server is listening to.

    BTW: added you on Skype

Unfortunately, you didn't do everything. You missed the very first step: (Note, if you use Vista or Windows 7, you need to add the telnet client in your "Programs and Features". Alternatively, you can use putty).
Now, please follow the directions and you should be fine.

Yes, I did say that. I also said if you are on Windows Vista, or Windows 7, you may (as in, if you haven't already) need to install the telnet client.
Alternatively you can use Putty to telnet. If that is a daunting task, you can use http://www.canyouseeme.org/ to see if your port is open.

I am sure you understand this already, but I'll mention this for my own sanity. If you are given instructions you do not understand, try using Google. I did some simple Google searches to make sure what I was telling you had directions easily discovered with a quick search (and they were).

You may have given up, but the instructions have been provided to you. If you are unable to follow the directions, we can attempt to clarify them for you, but to say we have not provided help or instructions is not true.

"I fixed it" is a common way to say "I finally followed the directions."

Perhaps he found a youtube video that explained it in an easier manner in which he understood. In any event, I am glad he got it running.

Good point, if your DNS is wrong you will also see those problems in the client. One should always test against the IP address. An easy test, and one that was missed in this thread, was to simply ping your DNS.

It was missed because it has absolutely nothing to do with Bukkit, and we assume the basics are covered by people posting here for Bukkit help (not posting here for DNS help).
