Hello, I am looking to see if there is a restart plugin (manual or auto) I can use for my server. I have tried the search many times as well as google. If anyone knows anything about a restart plugin the mods can use so the owner doesnt have to manually do it, that would be great. If not, I will go make a request assuming this is possible to create. Thanks.

Just type /reload to do a soft restart =) (Must be op)

How would you expect a plugin, which is run by bukkit, to magically restart itself, though it is not running itself anymore, because it stopped bukkit (and itself) just a moment earlier?

The moment a plugin shuts down the Minecraft bukkit server, it kills itself. A plugin won't cut it. All a plugin could do is trigger a script on the actual server, outside of Minecraft or Bukkit. And this is where things get a bit complicated, and it also depends on what OS you are running the server.

    Check this, for example:

I use /reload to reload all config's (reloads all plugins) which also allows me to keep the server running without having to actually restart the server..
Whereas my buddy uses Remote toolkit and can not use the /reload command..does not even say it is an unknown command..just nothing pops up.. May be the cause of the remote kit..may not..he has never used the /reload so..

You can write a batch file that will restart if the server crashes. What you are looking for is outside the realm of what a plugin can do because all plugins will be canceled when the server crashes.

You can use McMyAdmin to perform server restarts. You can even do it in-game using the /restart command.

ok thanks guys, but my friend actually is now saying that he had a restart plugin that basically modified the batch file to restart every x hours. He said he couldnt find it and it would probably be outdated and old if it even exists. Anyone have any info on this?
