[REQ] WebSigns

A bit about me: I'm a server admin who is running a medium-sized server, and I am now looking into hosting another server (a bigger one!)​

What I want: I'd like for my players to right-click a sign, which would then lead them into a specified URL.​

Sign Example:​

[Websigns]​

(URL ID) (I think we should use URLs predefined with an ID, as most URLs won't fit)​

(Custom Message)​

(Custom Message)​

Ideas for commands: /websigns create (?)​

/websigns addurl (URL) (urlID)​

(I think this is needed, as most URLs won't fit on signs)​

Ideas for permissions: websigns.create/websigns.use​

​

When I'd like it by: I'd like it by the weekends (May 19-20), but I really don't mind as long as the plugin is created!​

Sadly, the URL-clicking event is only client side. If a player clicks a link in chat, and that link is valid, then the client will redirect them to the web page, not the server.

The best alternative would be to have the sign say a message to the player with the URL, that way they can click on it in the chat.

 

there already is a plugin that does exactly that - shows links in chat when you click on sign, telling the player to click on it... don't have link at hand, you might want to search this forum for something like "url sign"
