    Meh, I'd go with PermissionsEx.

bPermissions is really easy to start off with. Seriously, it generates the permissions for you, it's easy.

    Meh i'd go with PEX.

Seriously nobody should need a GUI and BP is gay in the fact that it doesn't support *

I use Group Manager, its so easy, you setup the permission nodes, and away you go, I use a Guest and Member, like make them sign up to a forum if you have one, that gets them member, guests can only /spawn and can't build
All you do is to promote them is the following
"/manuadd [player] [group]" GROUPS: Guest, Member, Mod ETC... Of course you wont come with all my groups, you will have to create them yourself, its so easy, and very recommended!

Oh, and Permissions to add someone to a group you have to go into the players.config file, where as with group manager, it has In Game Commands!

You do realise that bPermissions has nothing to do with the support or lack of support of *?

I read it's description a while ago and it said it didn't support it. Has it changed?

That's superperms, not bPermissions. bPermissions simply provides the permissions to the BUKKIT superperms system. Bukkit handles them.

Anyway, if you want to give someone all permissions in superperms, you OP them!

Yeah but I don't like that bPermissions doesn't implement the * operator.

    bPermissions doesn't implement any operators.

    This is how it works:

read files -> calculate permissions -> pass to bukkit

When someone does a permissions check they just check against bukkit, not against bPermissions. bPermissions has no control over the * node or any other implementation (without doing a hacky reflection-based way like PEX does which can lead to lots of /reload errors)

Thanks for the info. I would rather have the reload errors then no * operators and stuff.

Which is why people keep using pex, and fair enough.
I did do something like that with bPermissions for a while, but there are obvious issues with not working with permissions.yml (server root) and not working properly with parent/child permissions.
