Currently none of current "Town" type plugins are customisable enough for what I have in mind (or no-one has been bothered to tell me how in the numerous posts I've asked in:

    ).

There are two distinct groups, Neutral players (Those without a town or server staff) and people who have a nation. At the very core this is what I would like to see.

Say Bob wants to start his own Nation. He would go over and talk to a Neutral Admin and they would mark out say a 30 x 30 piece of land and configure the land so PVP is disabled, mob damage is off etc. This land can only be expanded by an admin.

Bob is now able to define and create protected plots within his town (no admin required) and if anyone (For examples sake lets say Jake) would like to claim a plot they would have to talk to Bob and once they come to an agreement (whether he actually charges money or if a certain building can only be built etc.. is up to them) he can type a command and then the Jake would be the only one who can do stuff to it besides Bob and server staff.

    FAQ:

    Q: Why not Towny?
A: Towny is not very customisable. Sure, you can set it so only Admins can create towns but once a town is created that towns claimed area can very easily and rapidly be expanded without any control. The documentation isn't the greatest either.

    Q: Why not WorldGuard?
A: My assumption is that Owners of regions cannot create plots without being given the same initial region creation commands admins can get (or the documentation on how this is done plus permission nodes in detail is not created). I've posted my own thread as well as posted in the Official WorldGuard thread and pretty much got nothing.

Towny allows great control for town expansions. You just have to set it.

Essentially I only want towns to be able to expand after certain conditions have been met (say a monetary cost) and once they are met a Neutral admin would do it (Without that Neutral admin having to join the town, become the leader, expand it, return ownership to the rightful player and then leave).

Currently how far you can expand is based on how many people are in your town.

Also it comes back to the poor documentation, if more plugins have it organised and detailed like in the Essentials documentation there would be a lot less hassle.

Wouldn't that be the same principle as controlling the amount of land towns can claim based on size? In either instance less people means less land claiming power.

    I see what your saying.

Shane wants only admins to specify the location and expansion of the town.

Let me ask you this Shane. Why? I ask why because maybe there is a condition that can be set. Lets say you want only admins to do it because you dont want any "outposts"(towny term). If thats the case, could control be given to the king/mayor to only be able to expand in a direction directly adjacent to their empire?(I forget if towny already does this)

Just take some time and think of why you only want admins to be able to do this. I'll bet if you talk to the creator of towny, he might be able to work with you on it.

Towny does everything you need and more. Confused about why this thread is active.
