  1. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. Either that or tell me it's impossible and put my mind at rest from attempting it...
I've got a dedicated server running Windows Server 2008 R2. I've got CraftBukkit set up and running very nicely on there. At the moment, to start the server, I log in using remote desktop from my Windows 7 machine (i figured that was the simplest way) and I run the bat file I created to start the server. Then the server runs happily in a terminal window and I can close the Remote Desktop Connection.
What I'm wondering is.. I have another admin who will be working on my server with me, I'd like to know if it's possible for him to have access to the terminal window the server runs inside, at the same time as me. I know he could log onto the server using remote desktop and view it. But that would restrict us to one user at a time.
I know I could use a Web admin plugin or a TCP plugin, but i was wondering if there is any way to do this directly inside of windows/windows server.

If not, that's fine, but I figured I should ask before I give up entirely... or before i destroy my server trying to find a way to do it... heh.

Hope this all makes sense, if not I can attempt to word it better.
    Thanks.

does 2008 server support telnet? and could you start the java process that way?

or you could install terminal services, have a minecraft user and you both use that account for minecraft stuff..

Using Windows Server 2008, you could both RDP in at the same time (it allows 2 connections, even if its not set to 'terminal server' mode). One user could shadow the other user. Simple and easy.

  4. That seems to do the trick. We won't both need access to the console very often, especially since you can run almost all commands from inside the game anyway. And he can still access all the files and configs from his user account anyway.
Thankyou TnT, and thanks for the suggestion mughi.
    Sorted.
