End of Stream Error

Hi there, so I'm trying to run a minecraft server with absolutely no plugins or any player data. I am on a Windows 7 computer and have downloaded the Minecraft.exe folder and got all the folders that came with it. (world, banned-ips, banned-players, ops.txt, server.log, server.log.lck, whitelist.txt, and server.properties) Then I dowloaded the newest CraftBukkit (craftbukkit-1.1-R6-20120301.142116-2.jar) and got all the folders with that. (plugins, bukkit.yml, help.yml, world_nether, and world_the_end) and I started up the server with no errors, so thinking I had done it went into Minecraft entered my IPv4 address and like any other working server it shows the motd A Minecraft Server and it shows 0/20 players. So I try to log in and it says Logging In... then when a working server would go to the Dowloading Terrain... part I get the error End of Stream. If anyone could help me it would be much appreciated.

You're running a 1.1 server, are you running a 1.1 client? Or have you already updated to 1.2.3?

 

Umm I updated to 1.2.3 would that change anything? Because I swear that was the new updated CraftBukkit.

 

No, the latest recommended CraftBukkit is still 1.1
There IS a 1.2.3 CraftBukkit ( craftbukkit-1.2.3-R0.2.jar), but it's a Beta build. You can find the download for that here: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/craftbukkit-1-2-3-r0-2-is-now-available.64659/

 

Ahhh that's what my problem is. Thanks for the help. Do you know where I could find a 1.1 version of minecraft?

 

You probably already know how to downgrade it, so you can probably ignore the instructions, but there's a link to download the 1.1 jar file here:
