one trick you can do.. which I use for unlimited potions it to set the itemstack amount to -1. it won't use the item but still dispense it....

so it updates the players inventory, a lot of times when you mess with players inventories it doesn't always update on the client's screen
if it's a complete wipe of player info.. you could just add a task to delete the player.dat file, but you'd lose the last played time and stuff...

I got a better solution.. if a player is flying cancel the damage to the mob... then they have to be on the ground.
