Do you have Register and/or Vault installed?

 

I have Vault (1.2.5) installed.
Also doesn't work with BOSE.

I removed all plugins except BOSE, Gold2Eco, Vault to be sure.

 

At closer inspection of the error, you aren't running Gold2Economy-Vault at all.
You need to download the JAR from this post to get it working

It's a bit confusing. I downloaded from BukkitDev and i only found that version under files.

when I try to trade in gold it says "this server does not allow gold to be converted", in the config gold is set to true, i have the permissions, and i have the latest vault and bukkit but it does not work

 

I can't reproduce this, check to make sure you have permission to convert <item>
If you still get the problem, type '/gi rates'
If the item you want doesn't show up check your config again, type '/gi reload' after editing, then type '/gi rates' again
If the item you want STILL doesn't show up, double check you have the 1.1-R1 RB of CraftBukkit, if you do, and the error still occurs, check your server.log for gold2economy errors, if any, pastebin them here. If no errors occur then I'm stumped but I'll look into it.

My extremely limited coding knowledge tells me there's supposed to be a config somewhere that hasn't spawned.

 

I'll look into it, and yes, its trying to find a missing config

Change to

You may need to shift around where you're instantiating the variable.

Otherwise plugin.getConfig() is a much better method to use.

As you may have guessed from my continued absence; I am very busy. I got my promotion at work so I'm now even busier than before. I'll continue to merge pull requests if you wish to make any but I don't think I'll be doing any of my own coding for a while.

I can't recreate the issue, try the following, check for issues after each step:

• Update CraftBukkit even if you think you have an up-to-date version
• Remove ALL plugins except for Gold2Economy-Vault and Vault (or Register)
• Delete/Rename all configuration files for G2E and Vault (or Register)
• Update G2E-Vault even if you think you have the up-to-date version (You can use the build on my Jenkins here if you need to)

If you are still getting issues it may be OS specific, so please provide the following if you don't mind (but please try all f the above first):

• Pastebin from the server log 5 lines before each error, and 5 lines after each error
• Your Operating System (eg: Windows 7)
• CraftBukkit Version, Vault Version (if using Vault), G2E-Vault Version

I'll do my best to recreate the issue in the meantime although it looks like another plugin you have is conflicting with G2E-Vault
