    New Towny Website!

    Taking Shades' Towny a step farther.

    A versatile, player-controlled land management plugin for use with Bukkit/Tekkit/Spigot/Libigot, offering solutions for pvp, griefing, chat, inflated economies and monsters.

    Features (open)

    Towny includes a wide variety of features to offer instant enhancements to your traditional Minecraft server.
    • Allows players to own and manage land based on a pre-set grid layout.
      • Players join towns and purchase plots of land.
      • Players decide who can build, destroy, use "switchs" and use items on every plot they control.
      • Towns can join together into nations, further structuring a server into teams.
      • Towns grant protection from monsters, pvp, fire, explosions and greifing.
    • Wilderness Rules (Optional)
      • Area between towns is wilderness, with its own build permissions.
      • Limit players' interaction with the wild to just harvest-able blocks, keeping the wild pristine.
      • Roll-back tnt, creeper, wither explosions, dragon damage and endermen block-moving.
      • Block explosions and fire.
    • PVP Enhancements
      • Server with a strong PVP aspect will find Towny's grouping of players to be invaluable.
      • Prevent friendly-fire. (Optional)
      • Nations split players into larger teams.
      • Nations can declare other nations to be allies or enemies, further splitting players into even larger teams.
      • PVP can be turned on/off in wilderness, towns and worlds. (Optional)
    • Teleporting/Warping and Spawning (Optional)
      • Players can spawn to their town upon death.
      • Players can spawn to their town or a town that is within their nation/allied with their nation.

    • All permissions plugins are supported and provide greater customization (recomend GroupManager).

    For some reason the /accept command on my server isn't working.

    At first I realized that the McMMO "Party" plugin was taking priority over the /accept command. I kept trying to change the command in the towny config but it would always give me "unknown command" in-game (ie using /towninvite accept)

    Now, I removed McMMO, and it's still not working, even with the default "/accept". I reinstalled Questioner as well.

    Latest version of both Questioner and TownyAdvanced, installed this morning.

    Went on the IRC and got the advice I needed. For anybody with the same problem, simply don't use dev versions of WorldEdit.

    In order to enable revert on unclaim, is this how I should set it in the config file?

    revert_on_unclaim: 'true'

    or is it revert_on_unclaim: 'enabled'?

    Also, I have wilderness interactions set to false:
    unclaimed:
    unclaimed_zone_build: 'false'
    unclaimed_zone_destroy: 'false'
    unclaimed_zone_item_use: 'false'

    Yet I can still destroy in the wilderness. Any idea what the cause of this problem might be?

    Edit the worldname.txt in the towny\data\worlds folder, config is just default settings for new worlds.

    Thanks broski, even an experienced server owner like me it's taken me a week to find this out, and yet, I'd never expect it be the worldedit dev builds, time to trace it back to the update before the break..

    I got a problem I could not solve. First of all I have to admit this plugin is great and works fine. however some things working weird.
    I got problem working with placing lava and making fire with flint and steel.
    How do I allow a resident so place lava and make fire with flint and steel?
    Firespread is turned off with World guard, so Fire will not spread anywhy, but few residents want use that a burning block as a decoration.
    Force Fire option is on. I can do everything since I am an towny.admin permissioned user so i have no problem with it. Which nod I have to add or what do I have to change?
    Thank you for your help (and sorry my bad english)

  8. This is actually from NoLagg.

    I've not seen this. I'm running current Dev on my live server and all perms seem ok, even for chest access.

    Hello,

    I've updated to the latest build of this plugin, but now players aren't allowed to place torches in the wild. Wild building is disabled, and yes, the item id "50" is in the "unclaimed_zone_ignore" field. Some help with this would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Grey

    unclaimedZoneBuild=false
    unclaimedZoneDestroy=false
    unclaimedZoneSwitch=false
    unclaimedZoneItemUse=false

    That's what I set it to in the worldname.txt folder. That's what it should be if I don't want users to edit in the wild, right?

  12. If you are using a permisison system you need to grant teh relevant nodes now. Permissions override the ignore list, to allow for blacklist/whitelisting.
    Remove? Just don't grant the permission node and none can use that channel. (should work)

    Just closing the loop. Thank you for the reply. It was user error. The pertinent server members were neglecting the individual plot perms and just focusing on nation and town. I put too much faith in their perm knowledge. Glad for closure. :)

    Sincerely,

    I've managed to figure it out and people can no longer destroy in the wilderness.

    However, for unclaimed_zone_ignore:

    Whenever I try to delete the preset list, it simply regenerates back to the default list of items to ignore such as wood, the ores, sapling, etc. I tried deleting the ignore list on the config.yml and the world.txt, both simply regenerated the list when I reloaded the server. How can I make it permanent?

  16. You don't need to delete them. If you are using a permissions system the ignore list will not be used.

    Im getting errors with towny every time we try Setting the permission off so Outsiders cant grief towns they can still Build/destory
    I tryed /town set perm off
    /town set perm Outsider build off
    Same thing happens to allys and residents

    Code:
    towns=
    capital=
    assistants=
    friends=
    enemies=
    taxes=0.0
    neutral=false
    The command is "/nation ally add" IIRC.

    But yeah, I've also tried having the King of another nation add my nation while I simultaneously added his nation and it still wiped when the server restarted.

    Awesome, can't wait for stable.

    It's very stable now, you should use it, pop into the irc and say !dev and !townychat for relevant links.

    I'm using GroupManager and I tested it out earlier. My members cannot build/destroy in the wild but they can build/destroy with the ignore list items still

    Love the Plugin. Is their any way to claim a large ammonut of land quickly? I have an ernormous town on my server that would take hours to claim.

    LlmDl

    That change is only in the dev version, if you run release the wildignore list is still used.

    Yes, try /town claim {circle or rect} {radius in townblocks ex: 5}
    Doing /town claim rect 5 would claim an area of townblocks 10x10, centered around you.

    I have downloaded towny and towny chat and questioner and i think i have everything set up with the permissions and all that but while in game everytime some one moves or does anything at all it spams my console for every movement someone makes on my server my console gets spammed with like 20 lines of random stuff i look carefully at it and found it said [servere] could not pass PLAYER_MOVE to Towny anyway i could get rid of this its quite annoying and causes lag

    I just upgraded to the dev version and wilderness build protection is no longer working.

    When I changed it back to the older release version, wilderness protection was working again

    I'll look into it, but I'm usually skeptical about dev builds, especially with Towny magically blanking the town plots of my towns sometimes.

    Is it already possible with this plugin to manually select plots? Because I don't like the idea of having like chunks for each plot because I would like to have Town Owned paths and such stuff.

    wsurfer852

    Awesome, thanks

    Ok, so when I tried, it said "Area not attached to edge" or something. When I tried manually claiming, all it said after like 10 chunks was "Too may townblocks". What's happening?

    How do you set it so people cant claim town in WorldGuard regions?

    Ok, so I set up everything for towny on my server yesterday and everything worked. I added people to my town, no problem (although some got an error saying "the player who made the request is currently not online" or something like that, but they were still added to the town).
    Today however, I can't add anyone. They all get the error saying that the one who made the request (so me) is offline, which I'm not. And now they are not added to the town.

    Any ideas?
