I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

permissionDefault is for SuperPerms (Bukkit Permissions)
defaultEnabled toggles whether you have to enable the tool (/lb tool enable) before you can use it.

When I generate new chunks (by flying along the edge of the currently generated world e.g.) the Logblock queue starts to grow until I stop exploring. Then it gets proccessed.
Until this is done, it seems like the performace of the server drops, so that often lags occur.

First I ran into this problem when using the "fill"-function of the WorldBorder Plugin, that generates all the Chunks within the set world size.
But it also happens when myn people are exploring or an Admin flies over not yet generated map parts.

Is that a normal behavior for LB?
Is logging waterflow and lavaflow causing this high load?

I just had a griefer on my server that was using a hacked client. Somehow this client had the capability of avoiding log detection, and he even inserted a different player's name into the log. Logblock works for everyone else, but it could not log this griefer. How is this possible? Thanks in advance.

Im trying to use the web interface and get the following errors when I run it... this is from the /lbwebstats page:

( ! ) Warning: mysql_num_rows() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in C:\wamp\www\lbwebstats\index.php on line 87

    Call Stack

    20.0025773192mysql_num_rows ( )..\index.php:87

I was able to fix this... in the config.php file where it has $tables it asks for "lb-main" as a default, thats not a real table, i told it "lb-world" as thats my world table, and now it loads.

Well, Im using MySQL first the first time... and it wont work. Im on a mac using XAMPP. I set a password, plugged the info into the LogBlock config (Used root as username) and created the minecraft database using phpmyadmin. It won't connect when I start up the server... if someone could just give me a walkthrough or something on how to do this, it would be appreciated.

kk, either disable water/lava flow logging, or adjust some consumer settings to speed up queue processing (double timePerRun).
It's supported, you just need the perms3 bridge (Permissions.jar from the pex zip)
Either simply a hacked account, or they found a way to do a fake login without auth check (what I still don't think, if, they would just choose admin and many, many servers would be affected), or a griefer trying to make excuses.

    Disable logging.logPlayerInfo in main config
Have a look at your world config.

  23. @DiddiZ
    LB 1.50 + CB 1619.

It will no longer put anything in chest logs. It worked fine on earlier bukkit versions and have since not changed anything in configs. Since i turned off the logging.logPlayerInfo the only error (the above one) has gone away. Was it actually needed to log chests?

    Edit1
After a restart, its now sometimes logging, sometimes not. Again, chests only.

    Edit2
Reverted to CB 1615 and problem is still there, also still no errors in console.

Found a feature that big brother has that this plugin doesn't: With bb, you could see what someone said or what command they used in the place that they were when they used a command or something they said with the lookup tool. Can't find that feature with this plugin.

What does this mean, and how do i fix it?
[INFO] [LogBlock Consumer] Queue overloaded. Size: 13951

  28. It means the users on the server are generating more block changes then LogBlock can write to database. They will be buffered up until they can all be written. For such a large amount as 14K its likely someone is going a little overboard with tnt or griefing on a larger scale :)

As long as it doesnt continue for too long the buffer can handle it fine and it will just get written to database eventually.

  29. Offline

    Mrchasez

    It does that a lot.
We have TNT off, my server has 12k Regsitered members, and has on average 130 online.
LogBlock has been really skittish on my server lately. Where results dont come up until like hours after they are placed, and stuff like that. It didnt use to do this, how can i fix this? How do i just remove all info from the database and let it restart.

No. Try "/lb savequeue" before using the tool, if it still doesn't work properly, install Spout (if not already installed, it provides a better chest api).

Yeah, chat and command are currently logged without location.
Adjust somr consumer settings to speed uo queue processing:
    increase timerPerRun and lower deleayBetweenRuns
