If you want to prepare for SpaceBukkit you could already install BukkitRTK onto your server ;)
Also please carefully folow the instructions here :D

The plugin is optional, it's for ingame restart commands :)
    Wrapper is mandatory ;)

Now it's my turn to spoil about Sputnik.

Everything listed after is already coded or nearly done.
Internal wrapper (no more RemoteToolkit, which was an awesome wrapper, sorry @drdanick but we needed to free ourselves from external dependencies), automatic upload of each internal exception log to Pastebin.com, automatic server installation (SpaceBukkit automatically download and install Bukkit for you), real multiplatform support (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc. without Mono for sure).

Wow, you can't even imagine how spoiling makes you fell good. I'll post the code on GitHub soon, so if you're a dev', you'll be able to help me by pushing some code to the repository.

Also, if you've any suggestion (for the Java part of SpaceBukkit), feel free to reply here or to PM me.

    Amicably, NeatMonster.

I'm ashamed of my old code, which was very messy. Hopefully the code you saw on GitHub is really better. I'm going to add JavaDocs ASAP.

I actually installed pretty much every dependency SpaceBukkit requires about a month ago :D
It even has it's own subdomain!
When it gets released, my server will welcome it with open arms and cake.

    Code released on GitHub.

Please notice the JavaDoc was automaticaly generated, so don't worry if it doesn't make sense. Feel free to pull changes, improvements or even JavaDoc rewriting. Any help is appreciated.

Just wanted to drop in and tell you that there is a little typo on your website... When you click "Click here to activate feature mode" it says "yo" instead of "to".

Can't wait for the beta though! Every couple minutes I have been refreshing the page looking for updates :)

We're having some issues with writability of files. It's chmodded to 777 but still it says "not writable"... very strange

Yes. It's midnight here, and we still need to finish the testing. So tomorrow we'll finish it.

You have no idea how much MCMA does that you never see. Keeping service providers with over 4000 servers happy is a lot of work (and its why they don't mind paying the price). Keep an eye on MCMA2 as well ;)

  23. To be honest, I don't see much difference between the two except price, design and a few functions. I was about to buy an MCMA license until I saw this, only because it's the only good option out there, not because what it does.

Soon, it will be: SpaceBukkit > McMyAdmin

Many server owners like the look of this that are currently use MCMA and will most likely switch over, including me.
I don't mean to be mean, or mean any harm, just stating my opinion on the matter and I'm looking forward to the release of this, MCMA seems a bit more closed and unaccessible for questions than this in my opinion.

The biggest difference is support. One is a community driven project developed in the spare time of its developers, the other is commercial software with large amounts of resources to put into development and testing. If you're a hosting company with 4000 servers and you've got a problem affecting your customers - you need it fixed now, not when some dev has the free time to look at it or when someone takes the time to debug, fix and test 3rd party code. The other major difference is the design ethos. McMyAdmin quite deliberately restricts certain types of functionality in order to improve security or user friendliness, keeping users as far away from config files as possible. SpaceBukkit doesn't make the same sacrifices and favors giving users more control - but that won't sit well with service providers. In that sense they're an apples to oranges comparison so far that they are designed to suit different use cases. Despite the overlap, I don't really regard SpaceBukkit as competition for McMyAdmin.

In the end, people will choose what fits their needs more. Whether it be MCMA or SpaceBukkit. Just because something is more open doesn't mean it'll fit my needs better.

    @PhonicUK
You stated your point several times, in our post, in your posts. Several times, for quite some time. We understood it.
You don't see this project as a threat, you don't want to even give it a change by simply talking down to it.
We understood it. Now please stop.

I already wrote you a reply on your thread that never got any answer.
The short form is: We love what we do, we're not building this for competition. And we're just getting started. This is a product for everybody, it will grow, and since it will most likely be open-source-ish, support will be community driven, if that's your main concern.

It's out little treasure, built in 4 months of hard labor. I won't let anyone talk down to it like this. You have your large community relying on your product. Fine, we got it. Now let us just do our work, and you do yours.

It goes both ways, see my thread. But maybe it'd be best if we both refrained from comment in future :) - amicably.

Also, dev servers running prototypes frequently go down ;) Hence my sig.
