VanishNoPickup - Make yourself invisible AND disable item pickups:
    Version: v1.9.12

    Description:
This plugin turns you invisible. It also allows you to disable item pickups. These two things go hand in hand when stalking a potential cheater.

I'd written a separate plugin to do NoPickup, but decided it was always wanted when you Vanish, thus we have this plugin.

Currently the plugin is setup to always disable item pickups when you go invisible.

As of 1.7 you can add a Permission node to disable mobs from noticing you while invisible.

Many thanks to Nodren, as I've basically taken his plugin and added functionality to it.

Well, but what should we do, when we dont want to install spout on our server?

We always used this plugin before.. it worked great..

That's the problem, it's now easily exploitable. So, the Spout implementation solves that.

There must be a way to avoid Spout :p

We just want an easy /vanish plugin for normal users like VanishNoPickUp was before..
If someone can see us anyway, we know at least that he's using unallowed hacks on our server.. :p

What's your issue with getting spout going?

First off, what is spout? o.o

It's a plugin that you install, that lets other plugins do magical things.

I enjoy this plugin more than VanishNoPacket, all I want is a simple plugin that moderators and admins can /poof and they will be invisible. This new plugin is giving me crap about logging in invisible and its not really fun, I like the aspect of this plugin being a lightweight solution to my problem.

If you're logging in invisible, then you gave yourself the permission to log in invisible. Just... don't give yourself vanish.silentjoin, and you won't log in invisible. VanishNoPacket is easy to configure, just read the documentation :) Here is the information on permissions: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/vanish/pages/permissions/

Also, this plugin can be exploited by a bunch of popular grief clients, VanishNoPacket cannot.

  10. However, this plugin has a few useability advantages over VNP (unless I'm missing it in the docs for vnp).

    • Administrate doesn't automatically log the admin in as invisible unless the admin logged out that way (persistent visibility state)
    • Administrate, when going into admin mode, remembers where the command was run and tp's the player back to that place when admin mode is left. This is probably the one thing I miss the most from Administrate when I moved to VNP.
VNP is a good plugin, don't get me wrong, and I am using it now, but I still prefer the Administrate functionality over VNP.

    Are you blind?
    That just sounds absolutely stupid.

Edit 9000: Fuck the RTF editor.

  12. No, I am not blind. My point was that it's automatically applied with VNP, vs Administrate will do it, depending on if the admin logs out that way. With VNP, either I am logging in invisible all the time, or not at all.

For some people, this matters. I rather liked the feature as I had the choice.

Perhaps to you. Again, personal preference. I liked it quite a bit. If I'm working on something and I need to go check on a user or something else comes up that requires me to stop what I'm doing, being able to go right back to where I was originally was a very nice feature. Obviously you don't find it as useful as I did.

    Agreed.:)

Dude. Relax. You're coming across as a bit of a turd here.

I realize that this is a reply to an older comment, but this recent transition from 1.8.1 to MC 1.0.0 is a perfect example of why Spout - albeit a great API/plugin - is sometimes shunned by admins because it can become a single point for failure for dependent plugins; as is the case with VanishNoPacket.

So for the time being, VanishNoPickup will still be an admin tool for us until Spout is updated and remain as a backup - even if we have to maintain it ourselves - when Spout isn't updated in a timely fashion. See http://forums.bukkit.org/goto/post?id=819151#post-819151

There a vanish plugin that doesn't require Spout? Spout drops my servers TPS when 25+ people are online.

I suggest you talk with the Spout team about that, as it makes little sense. There is currently a vanish plugin called "vanish 2" that doesn't need spout. However, without spout the plugin is useless. A large number of griefing clients have ways around that plugin, but they can't beat vanishnopacket.

Not sure how it doesn't make sense. Plugin in... Tps loss... plugin out... No Tps loss.

But thank you for Vanish 2, will be getting that one. :)

No, I meant that it's odd you're experiencing TPS loss, and should talk with the spout folks. ;)

    @mbaxter

Is it that important to have? I mean it's a HUGE plugin size wise and the only real advantage I seem to gain from it is being able to use Vanishnopacket, and some extra useless things that only seem to help people who use their client.

I am probably way off, please let me know if I am.

It's a decision that's entirely up to you. I find the extra stuff useful.

  21. Finally I can stop that one kid on my server that keeps saying his "89 diamonds in a day technece" is legit XD

You can use VanishNoPacket you musst install Spout
BUT: YOu only need Server Spout you dont need the Client to join the server

Everything, pretty much.. I hate using it. No offence to the devs, but i hate the whole plugin. It always messes up something.. Errors all the time, and crashes occur more often with it.. I basically just want Vanish without spout, maybe you could help me with that instead?

I don't recall any reports or help requests from you. When there is a conflict, it's usually due to the server owner installing an incompatible build of Spout on a build of CraftBukkit that it isn't made for. Being as the Spout plugin relies heavily on overriding core parts of CraftBukkit, you can't really stray far from what we recommend each build to be used with.
