    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More​

    Description
    Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

    People can't log into my 1060 Bukkit Server!:
    Are you using spout? If so, you need to upgrade it to a dev version or disable it until those guys release a 1060 compatible version.

    How do I know if I'm running CB XXXX or higher?:
    Type /version. The number here is your CB version:

  4. No guarentees with 1.0 atm. I've finally been (sort of) cured of my Skyrim addiction and will be resuming MV work.

    sounds good fernferret lol. As good as Skyrim actually is, your work on multiverse is amazing mate. right now I tried the latest dev build and 1.0 went nuts with java errors lol. Take ur time bud, ill wait forever if I need too :).

  6. I'm actually downloading 1.0 right now, MV 2.2 has been in the works for quite some time, so I'll be fixing it up and releasing it soon.

    I haven't yet had any errors, until I tried to add the End to Multiverse (I knew it wouldn't work properly, but I tried anyway; it's really odd seeing the End landscape in a Normal Environment)

    Oh no, is skylands gone in 1.0.0? Multiverse works for me on 1475, but only if I change the skylands worlds to normal.

    skylands are native now in game, so im sure this has something to do with it. When starting even a vanilla 1.0 server, it creates world, world_nether, and world_skylands.

    world_skylands is actually the new "The End" world. I'm lucky I have backed up my Skylands world as The End has overwritten it...
    Will we still be able to use the old skylands/Sky Dimension with the new Multiverse?

    I cant get the permissions to work. I tried like all permissions and my members still gets You dont have permisisons to go there or something. Plz help me, what shall I do to make /warp work between worlds and the portals to work?

    Heads up to the devs here - https://github.com/Bukkit/Bukkit/commit/4a9efb90643f174fefee5bcac62e668ac8b5f4ec (Environment.SKYLANDS is now Environment.THE_END). Dinnerbone says its necessary (for jiving with the Mojang code), but its gonna break a few of us.

    Edit: Change is built in latest build (CB1487, as of this post). Looks like you can get SKYLANDS worlds loading by changing SKYLANDS to THE_END in worlds.yml. Ditto for creating worlds (although I see a complaint about "unable to find spawn biome" - assuming we've got a new biome type for The End, as well).

    Edit 2: Probably a "nevermind, existing skylands are boned" is the better answer. The environment change works OK, but the world generation is completely replaced (as are things like how lighting works, mobs, and the like). May actually be better for folks to move SKYLANDS maps to NORMAL.

    Pretty much, if you want to continue using a Skylands map, you'll need to find or make a Skylands terrain generator.

    Came across this - http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/skylandsplus/ - which looks like a promising path for folks with existing Skylands maps (at least better the default options). Can't vouch for it, but it sounds promising.
     
  17. Mike, I doubt that plugin will work with 1.0.0, as it used the built in skylands generator.

    I have 2.2 working with 1.0.0, still LOADS of exceptions, but it works, I'll keep y'all posted.

    Cool - looking forward to the update!

    The SkylandsPlus description mentions that he'd updated it to support 1.0 - I didn't see a source code link, so I can't say whether he's using a copy of the old world chunk generator for the skylands, but it looks like it. I was just able to use it to generate a 'classic' skylands map on the current 1.0.0 build, and his description text specifically indicates his intention for it to handle existing skylands (as normal type maps with a custom generator, including for 1.0).

    What should I expect to not work using MV2.1 with the 1.0.0 CB dev builds? As soon as I changed my skylands world to a normal environment everything seems to work fine.

    Using 331 and CB 1488:
    Everytime I try creating an End world (mv end end) in console it shows:

    After this the CPU hangs.
    Tried in-game console shows the chunkster error message.

    I did get it to work with a End map that was auto created by bukkit by importing it with a NORMAL env. And then edited the config to THE_END before testing 331.
     
  21. That's about it, we removed/renamed several different skylands references. 2.2 is still kinda unstable, but people were going nuts, so I pushed it pretty fast, it's a dev build, as normal. So don't trust it.

    An official AB will be out definitely when the Bukkit RB.

    LOL of course caution was taken. We have a Carbon Copy of the server setup for testing. We're veteran server owners and are just here to help pinpoint crucial issues when we can.

    NP it's fixed now. PS I see what the mistake was lol. Also noticed the config loads the server a lot faster now.

    Is it just me or is gamemode not switching correctly when you switch to a creative mode map?
    Using 332 and CB 1488

    May be it's already notified, but there is a little problem with the skylands worlds ; when using Multiverse 2.2 with 1.0.0, it can't import, load nor create a skyland world.
    Otherwise, there is no probleme but a error message (the same with multiverse 2.1, with a SKYLANDS line more) :

    Any chance to get the old style Sky Dimension back in the new version of MultiVerse? As our server was using the Skylands world for quite some time and it would kinda be sad to delete all the work we did.

    keep getting crap seeds....spawn is always in the middle of the ocean and cant find any land (after going in the same direction for 30 mintes...) any fix..?

    EDIT: using bukkit build 1467 btw and ive tryed having MV load up a map stoping the server and replacing the map files with one of my maps that i know isnt all water and same result i end up in the middle of some random water body and i cant find land. ive tryed changing the spawn in the worlds config and still nothing.

    EDIT :FIXED IT! i had it generate went to it and i was in water...stoped the server loaded my map on to it still in water... deleted my player file from the map MV made and put the one from my map on to it and bang. spawned on land ^_^

    Strange issue on my end.

    When I initially updated to the 1.0 dev builds everything seemed to work fine, was using signportals too. After a few restarts though Multiverse will hang trying to enable a world. Same problem on 2.1-326 and still happening on 2.2-331. I've isolated MV-Core and the problem persists. No errors or anything, just the server console locks up and commands don't work. Anyone got any ideas or having the same problem?

    You are gonna want to try 332and you might have to delete the settings for that world from the worlds.yml. If all that doesn't work you may need to delete the world folder and try again.

    I had a similar issue using Portals.. removed my multiverse-core folder and all was well. this is my test server so it doesnt matter.
