BukkitDev and Bukkits Staff ; I think they should get more staff members for The BukkitDev. Iv seen some Moderators doing a good job with that and thank you for that; but on the other hand, im seeing that some of the bukkitdev plugins have not been approved to update. Im thinking they should hire new staff in may be diff. time zones? Or just hire a active user?
EDIT: Well it looks like they implemented my Idea :)

Thats wrong. Firstly I always see him (check your timezones)

Seconfly, your promoting yourself. Read rule #8 on the TOS.
    8. Do not ask for a position on staff.

Your promoting yourself for asking for more staff, and saying you never see mbaxter. If the Bukkit Staff want more staff, they'll find some who meet the requirements.

Anyway, I think that it works fine as of now. My projects, and others as far as I know, get approved within a day.
Even with 5+ more bukkitdev staff, it won't get approved instantly. These people do it for free, so they are not obligated to check 24/7.

    Edit: @NuclearW haha :p

Yup this is something ongoing and in fact we'll be making an announcement hopefully shortly on ways to resolve this.

Sorry if I stated it wrong, I meant to say, it's fine as its working (in my opinion^^, sure they could do with a few more, but hey...). If they do want more staff they'll ask (referring to Rigby)
just don't promoted. Im sorry if i offended you i guess^^

and hey, Congrats @Rigby90 on Admin!

    Yup indeed it is.

We're getting a boat load of apps in and we'll be reviewing them over the course of the next few days possibly weeks to sort out some more staff to help with the community.

    Ty.

If you don't mind me asking, how many people will be chosen for each position, or will it depend upon how good people are? :)

Will all applications be responded to, even if rejected?

I've seen this asked a few times in IRC, but never actually answered.

I can't really say that we have a fixed figure on how many for each section we want, an idea was being passed around about having a total of 20-40 BukkitDev staff scattered across the time zones so we can improve the approval queue dramatically.

Regarding the forums, I suppose it comes down to finding the right mix of dedicated people across the time zones to hopefully cover the community as much as possible. After all it's a volunteer position so we'll need enough to cover the times when others are not available.

However both of these rely on having a stash of decent applications to actually choose from.

I'm sure we'll try our best to respond to them once a decision has been made.

Wow, 20-40?! At least we'll get a good group of people who can check the plugins!

Where is the majority of the current staff located at the moment? :D

*hopes the 'woah' was at the 20-40 figure*

If that's the case then it was an idea floating about ;), not necessarily the amount we'll be accepting. Also that 20-40 figure would most likely be including our current BukkitDev staff which is roughly ~10-13 people.

Any ways we'll be taking on as many people as it takes to get the job done... So maybe ~1000? :p

    Oooo that's a toughy.

Ok... IIRC there's quite a few across the US time zones and some across the EU time zones.

Before everyone gets their hopes up, one should remember that the goal isn't just to add more numbers, but to make the staff more globally diffuse. We won't be getting 15 new US moderators or bukkitdev moderators, I would imagine.

Of course, as Rigby stated, there is the problem that they need to have a good set of global applications to pick from; which leaves me very well satisfied that applicants who simply have the benefit of their location won't be scrutinized for the same quality as elsewhere.
