I have an issue similar to this. Try deleting a characters data file.

try to what Zaros said, delete some ''player.dat'' files, your staff won't mind, right?

I've been having similar problems. In addition to that, when an admin is online, other players have problems logging in and admin's clients are freezing. I'll try deleting the character files and report back.
Oh, and here are the plugins that you and I have in common:
McBans, WorldGuard, WorldEdit, PermissionsEx, Permissions, NoCheat, Multiverse-Core, economy, Factions(I just installed this, so there is no way this is the cause to the problem), Register, ChestShop

I have the same problem, I as the admin lag server everytime I log in. Is it caused by player.dat files or something else?

    Then I wouldn't know.
It probably isn't PEX, I'm using that too.

Try installing NoLagg or Ptweaks, see what effect that has.

To be fair, after bugging the author of PermissionsEx long enough, he made it compatible with "SuperPerms" parent/children "bullishit" again starting with PermissionsEx 1.16. And his example was wrong anyway, as "SuperPerms" can handle negations of permissions like in his example just fine.

They did. It is the SuperPerm api. He decided to break the standard.

I confess... I have no idea how superperms work

And i've figured out something we all know, it's pex that's making it lag

Got both of them, still lags

There is a standard, it's called SuperPerms. It's the reason that you can freely choose between (currently) "PermissionsBukkit", "PermissionsEx", "Essentials GroupManager" and "bPermissions" and that (almost) all plugins will work fine with your choice.

Then you should try another plugin. "Essentials GroupManager" is very similar to configure compared to PermissionsEx, "bPermissions" is really different, but imho in a good way (you should at least give it a try).

EDIT: Oh, and you don't have to know how SuperPerms work. Just read the instructions of the plugins you use, and when the instruction says you need e.g. node "plugin.some.thing", then just give yourself that node in your permissions plugin and that's it.

I've been told the cause of this lag is PEX. Basically, when you teleport or if you log into a multi-verse world or whatever, anyone with a '*' permission will go through and check every individual permission or something... causing the lag.

In short, removing the '*' permissions and manually entering them would fix this. Or, switching to another permission plugin apparently.
