    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

Hey there, love the plugin, though I have a problem. It seems that when I have CraftIRC integration enabled, I get two messages. One is with chat formatting, and the other looks like vanilla. This only happens when I have game to IRC. I also get spammed with an error about CUSTOM_EVENT. Tested using CraftIRC 2.14 and 3.00

    This works fine..
No conflicts with falsebook on my server..

However, we really need an update for this.. For two reasons:
To get rid of "Unsupported operation" twice in the log every single time anyone chats
and to add PermissionsBukkit support.. It doesn't matter which groups you allow into a channel.. Anyone can join as the plugin has no way of detecting groups at this time!

1 - Could anyone tell me how to set up an independing chat channel on Nether, (So having like NormalWorld and Nether) and users use the channel in their world (without having to do /ch Nether, /ch NormalWorld each time they use a portal)

2- Any way to stop /tell msg from being sended to craftirc? (If you do /tell nick text it is not showed, but if you do /tell nick, and then you send some text, it is)

    Thanks ;)

@Darknessblea You can bypass the wrong "double prefix" thingy for now, by deleting the {prefix} from the message format in HeroChat config.
Now you have to use the Essentials plugin.
In Essentials config, turn the option "add-prefix-suffix: " to "true".
The changes are best made, when the server is offline.
Now the prefix will be shown only once. Worked for me.

I just came here with exactly the same questions xD

@Melonking there is no support for factions right now.

If you want to change the color of chat, do one of two things.
    in your config.yml
    Code:
    channels:
        Debates:
            color: LIGHT_GREEN

You can also add it to the end of a suffix. You can also specify chat color when creating new channels.

  13. Know of any factions support coming in the near future?

unfortunately, not until 5.0 comes out, and we have been given no time of when that will happen. Its been requested a billion times though :)

Hi i need help setup herochat and craftirc. Im using both latest builds. craftirc 2.13 and herochat 4.10.3. what im trying to do is get it so all channels but staff in herochat to show up on irc. here's a link to both my config files herochat http://www.pastie.org/2642489, craftirc http://www.pastie.org/2642509.

  22. We're using HeroChat since day1 of our server back in March. It has become absolutely vital for us but now it is the last plugin that stops us from moving to PermissionsBukkit.
We're not in a hurry, still everything here works with Permission 3.1.5 but an update would be very nice before anything else breaks :)

How do you turn the chat channel nick off? I want to get rid of the g, but I have no idea how it's done!

fyi - I'm using HeroChat with PermissionsBukkit. Once you add another plugin for doing prefix, it works fine for the users. It spams two "Unsupported operation" entries to the console with every chat... but the users don't see that!

    Personally updated to 1240!
Also added some a new feature.

    -Added {displayname}
This allows for a player to have a displayname. Very useful for Towny, which is why it was added. If you use {playername} it will show your real in-game name.

Big thanks to my friend GreyMage! He is the one who updated it and added the new {displayname}. Big thanks for him! :D

    Tadas159 and nidzzllll- like this.
  27. That doesn't match my experience on our testserver. Chat channels didn't work at all, as far as I remember not even for op.

edit: to be more precise: even op can only speak in "local" (as the default channel).

YO man thank you and Gery so much! <3 it. Finally chat in console and some hope that HeroChat isn't dead :]
Looks to me you do not use the yml userfiles in HeroChat/users/ and switched to one file for all (i like it). Will you re-implement the quick message feature for /g *message* ect.? For me it does not work, getting standard Unknown Command reply.

On my live server, we've got 7 channels and 4 player groups. 2 channels are restricted by world and one channel is restricted by group (a staff chat channel for moderators and admins only). Last night I used 5 of the 7 channels in the course of doing my work, and each worked as they should, including player prefixes and colored names. The only issue is the doubled error message at the console, which makes reading the console or server logs a chore. I'm not saying how your should or shouldn't setup your server... only that it is working for me.

Glad you like it! I thought some people would find this helpful and a good update to help keep it alive. As for /g ... HeroChat never had a command like that... Can't find it on their wiki and plus we haven't touched that part. Perhaps your thinking of a different plugin? :x
Also, were working on trying to fix the playerlist. If someone is NOT in a town and you do /list it shows , ,
Note how there's no Name. But if they ARE in a town it will show what you've set in Towny, like the [Town] or something.
