Can anyone give me any info onto when this comes out ? Or possibly the notes etc on it or the progress of it.
You'll have to be patient. Even when the RB comes out the plugins that break (and there will be many) with the new RB will need to update as they chase down bugs. The new RB will likely be refined again at least 1 more time before 1.9 comes out (just a guess). This is an expansive and very buggy update to MC, and require a lot of changes to bukkit...or so I hear.
This is completely unacceptable. I expect bukkit to be updated a week before minecraft officially releases a new update. All of the independent plugin developers should also have their plugins updated, before the new bukkit is released. I mean, come on! This stuff is FREE! Not something I've paid for! You need to please me and everyone like me, if you want to keep me as a paying customer! I needs it to be updated, now now now! Didn't all of you sign up to be minecraft dev's and get full, unobfuscated, pre-release source code, so you could have your crap updated before a new update is released? If I knew how to code, I'd would have had all of this stuff updated, at least 4 weeks ago! So, with all of that being said; I think we can all agree, that the entire bukkit community is anxiously awaiting the update to mc 1.8. And the only thing we can do, is wait until the talented developers are ready to release it. Kudos to all of you who have donated and appreciate all of the hard work these guys do for us. Shame on those of you who think everything in the first paragraph is true and not at all sarcastic.
What some people fail to realize, is that they can already get it... I am already using the non-RB and it is stable and has been running for the past 3 days fine. Sure it has some bugs, but all plugins work with it and it has not destroyed my world.
@Xenophod Bukkit is updated by people with lives, dont expect them sitting up all night, everyday day updating bukkit.
