I thought of an idea to suggest. What if you made a script to automaticly find griefers. What i'm thinking is that if you put a value on each block like for example glass has 100, so if a griefer destroys a glass block he gets hes "griefer value" set to -100 but when a player creates a glass block he gets +100 "griefer value". Then you could make something that outputs people that have very high "griefer value". It would stop false positives for blocks like stone/gravel by having a very low value for them like 0 or 0.1. Any thoughts on this?

That could be easily made as a plugin using the Guardian (LogBlawk) api

I like the name Guardian, I think we should run with it.

Finally no more corny name suggestions (no offense to others :p). Guardian is a great name :). As far as aliases go, should we expect to see /gn?

Can you add a progress bar or something?
The waiting is killing me :)

    I think /gn, /gu and /gd are possible.
But I don't know whether there are conflicts with existing plugins

i would like to see the command system to be basic still like logblock does it to be honest
/gn rollback player bluhbluh time 3 hours
you guys get the idea its stright forward and basic
and are we keeping the MySQL?

We discussed it, and came to the decision to keep both system (LogBlock and BigBrother/HawkEye command parameters).
Of course, MySQL will be first supported dbms

Well, they aren't fixed yet, but the syntaxes shouldn't change much

I propose we start actual coding work once a stable build of Bukkit 1.8 is out. We don't want to start working only to realise we need to change a lot of stuff for 1.8

I agree. 1.8 can possibly change the needs for guradian.

I hope Guardian will be able to DISABLE/ROLLBACK Enderman block moves >:)

  16. And vine growth based on who placed the first vine. Those things grow fast!

I bet they won't grow as fast in the official release as in the "prerelease".

Vine growth will be the same thing as lava flow etc. Logging of that will require some kind of ownership tracking system. It will be resource intensive so will definitely need to be optional

I've been watching the development of this thread for awhile and I really like the new name "Guardian." I think it's a good fit. I can't wait for a full release :)

Good job guys, I'm still using HawkEye and it serves its purpose for 1.7

Oh man, I'm excited for this! The most important thing I can think of for the new plugin is to have a very server host friendly installation guide. Having this plugin is very important to a lot of us who have never used mySQL before. Thanks for getting together on this, guys!

  22. Will this require a separate SQL server? I need a logging plugin that relies on an integrated database as opposed to a separate server. SQL Is too much of a pain in the arse.

They pick up drops, I believe. Could be both. :)

They pick up blocks, not drops (by which I'm assuming you mean dropped items).

Must have been an illusion then. I saw some sand in a hole and an Enderman walked over it and held then a Sand Block.

Eh, I suppose they might do both, but seems unlikely...

There might be the possibility of H2 or SQLite, but MySQL will be the primary DBMS.

Is there a rough completion time? I'm worried about HawkEye on 1.8.1, it seems to pick and choose when it wants to work :(

If it doesn't work on 1.8.1 then I will be fixing it, but only once an official RB is out

I would be more than willing to help test this once you guys get that far, used BB for awhile and when it stopped updating I wanted to cry, glad to see this project going well.
