    This section is to clarify the config, It is recommended to use a program such as notepad++​
    to edit the config(makes things easier).​

    You will need get a link to the direct file (dropbox for example), NOT MediaFire or MegaUpload or Adf.ly or anything like that!

    Next just simple paste the link onto the desired world

    Setting Default-off to true will disable default texturepacks.
    If any errors pop up just mess around with the spacing(if using notepad++ make sure each is on its own line.) That's it if you have any other questions don't be afraid to ask!​

    Permissions only work with Superperms! It is the future, Sorry for any inconvenience.

    one least question, if the player already have the texturepack downloaded, your plugin don't re-download it, right ?

    It does download it again(cant do anything about that no way to tell if the player has the texturepack),
    But It doesnt make more then 1 copy of the texturepack so you wont see like 20 the same texturepacks when you look at your texturepacks folder.

    maybe you should see with its devoloper a way to combine your two plugin to have only one !

    does the other computers must be patched to use hd?
     
  7. This only works if the end users are running the Spoutcraft Client. If they are running the Spoutcraft client, the client supports HD textures out of the box.

    Hey, I can't wait to get using this plugin, but can't seem to get it to work. I've tried pretty much every possibility, but to no avail! Here's my .yml file:

    Nope, still having problems. Using the default config, I get the texture file specified. But when I replace it with one of my own (John Smith's), it goes back to the normal Minecraft texture. No matter where I upload it (Dropbox, Filefactory etc. etc), it simply doesn't work. Is it because there's a problem with HD texture packs?

    Here's an example of the default config:

    It doesn't work. Any ideas?

    Okay, sorry for spamming and all, but here's where I'm at.

    Using this config, I can install any texture pack as long as it's 16x16.

    Such as Eldpack for instance.

    However, attempting to install any high res pack does not work. This is clearly a plugin/server issue (though both Spout and Bukkit are up-to-date), as I have tried many, many different direct links. I would love for it to be fixed, so HD packs work in the future. Any ideas on why it may not be working?

    I cant see what is wrong at the moment as i am not at my own computer but, when i get back(probably tomorrow), I will be able to help you more.

    Just to clarify:
    What res is the HD texture packs? (I tested 32x and 64x)
    Are you using the Custom SpoutCraft Launcher?
    Make sure your spout plugin is updated.

    I'm attempting to use the JohnSmith texture pack (32x32), and yes, I hid the user number in the URL to avoid people downloading it. I have the real URL on my PC.

    Both my Spout plugin and launcher are up-to-date, as is Bukkit, but if you test later when you're at your pc and it works, I'll take another look.

    Yeah man, it's really confusing me. I have an idea... I'll try a non HD texture pack from my DropBox account, see if that works? Then I can see if it's just my DropBox... because to be honest, I can't find a direct link to JohnSmith's anywhere else.

    Right, it appears to be my DropBox, but I can't see why. Just tried Corocraft (16x16) by copying the public link from the .zip file in my public folder and adding it to the .yml, but no luck. Can anyone see where I'm going wrong?

    Please add an option to pick/disable texturepacks for clients! Some computers, such as my laptop, runs horribly with texturepacks higher than 32x32. There either needs to be an option for a lower resolution pack or a disable otion for the client.

    Does this work as in, I could walk into say a different city on my server and have the texture pack change, or per server/world type thing. If its the second, I would love for somebody to explain how the multiworld stuff works.

    Regional texture packs ar ein the works I think, meaning people will get different textures at different parts of one world.

    Now THAT would be the biggest, best thing ever to happen to minecraft. It basically would give us Unlimited building choices... its getting hard for me to build very different enviroments with the same materials :D

    Ok, well spout seems to have dropped support for downloading hd texturepacks. :'(
    For a plugin you can still use them my plugin just cant download them.

    When I was testing I had the same problem i just solved this by updating to the latest Texturedspout build and and latest spout plugin build(I didn't update to 1.0.5 till now sorry).

    P.S. Working on making the region-selection use worldedit.


    P.S.S. Does anyone know how to make those spoiler things so the Changelog can be shrunk down?

    i found the problem, you see the couldnt connect because they were using older versions of the spout client, thats the problem and it works perfectly, it supports hd, its awesome

    Have you contacted them to see if they'll reimplement the ability? This plugin stands a chance of being the single reason I will force Spout compliance on my server. I have been very on the fence about it, but if we can get the capacity to pick between several texture packs (possible to check an md5sum file to check for changes/that it's really a valid texturepack and not just a different one renamed?) in general (possibly having a command each player can use to set their preferred texture pack resolution as well, and auto-selecting the right one based on a server config file) AND region-based texture packs?

    Hell, yeah. Though I realize that's a lot to ask and probably isn't going to happen in any immediate timespan, it's nice to think about where this could go.

    I tested it and it does work just takes hell of a long time, strange.

    HD does work but, I wont say it is fully supported. It does work though just takes about 1 minute to download a 64x. :p Only First download though all the rest are like 10 secs after the first visit!

    Does it now? That's great news! Like @HereInPlainSight said, it's the sole reason I force users to download the Spout Launcher for using our server. So how long is "a hell of a long time" then? :D

    This is out of the scope of this plugin but a few people have requested this and I am thinking of starting work on,

    KickRegions , A plugin that when a player enters a region is kicked. Will have varies features on wheather he is kicked or not. Spoutcraft, op, permission node,ect. :D

    would be bomb, then we can force textures in one certain area but just let them not enter it if they dont want to use spoutcraft :D

    If you mean set the texturepack back to the one they were using before the plugin changes it, that is impossible but solved with a simple relog.

    Sorry if this has been asked before, and I don't know exactly how capable Spout is at the moment, but would it be possible/might you consider supporting per-world sound overrides/"packs", as well? Perhaps as a separate mod? I know there aren't so many custom sound sets out there, but just curious.
