    Taking Shades' Towny a step farther.

    A versatile, player-controlled land management plugin for use with Bukkit/Tekkit/Spigot/Libigot, offering solutions for pvp, griefing, chat, inflated economies and monsters.

    Features (open)

    Towny includes a wide variety of features to offer instant enhancements to your traditional Minecraft server.
    • Allows players to own and manage land based on a pre-set grid layout.
      • Players join towns and purchase plots of land.
      • Players decide who can build, destroy, use "switchs" and use items on every plot they control.
      • Towns can join together into nations, further structuring a server into teams.
      • Towns grant protection from monsters, pvp, fire, explosions and greifing.
    • Wilderness Rules (Optional)
      • Area between towns is wilderness, with its own build permissions.
      • Limit players' interaction with the wild to just harvest-able blocks, keeping the wild pristine.
      • Roll-back tnt, creeper, wither explosions, dragon damage and endermen block-moving.

    I am receiving this error, when Towny is deleting residents which have not logged on for some time:

    It does seem to remove the individual from all the relevant locations tho.
     
  3. Thats error is saying the resident was listed but no data file was found. It will clean up even with the error.

    Point 1 - I just commited a fix for your NullPointerException when using Town Claim (in Dev).
    Point 2 - The crash is a Dynamap error not Towny.
    Point 3 - Check your config hasn't been corrupted with the crash, but your data files have been.
    Point 4 - This is saying the player thisbetterworkis in the friend list of Caine_McMaster, but there is no data file for that player, or isn't listed in the residents.txt file
    Point 5 - This spam is when you have Debug_Mode enabled.

    Try latest Dev 0.75.3.19

    I want to thank you for the dedication you both put into the upgrade of this wonderful plugin! Towny is just too awesome to fall into oblivion and without you it would still drift between here and there! Im glad that its now here again!
    Also, both of you have proven the patience of angels when it comes to help us noobs to fix problems and help with updating from older version! Kudos, theres a lot to learn from such behaviour! Because of you Towny became much easier to use - and Im sure not only for me.

    Please Help: :)
    I run this version of Towny on my server, but only admins can destroy blocks in the wilderness, what do I do to allow all players to build and destroy stuff in wilderness?

    Also, does anyone know a great plugin, where i can protect the spawn?! :D

    Give your players the towny.wild.* permission node.

    How? I mean it already says "true" in the config

    (I don't have the Permissions Plugin!)

    And another problem:

    When i create a city it is only there for like one day or something, then it is suddenly gone D:

    Join the IRC channel and we'll get your permissions sorted.

    It sounds like your cities are being deleted because they don't have money in their town bank to pay the upkeep with.

    Use one or the other, don't use both of them.

  11. Thank you. It's nice to have positive feedback :)

    There is also a bug in current release where it can delete all offline residents when it performs a new day taxing. Deleting all residents will cause the town to be deleted too.

    Fixed in Dev.

    I'm just curious, but when is the Dev version going to be released as stable? I've been weary of using the dev version just because I'm afraid it will be completely unstable considering it seems theres alot of new thing implemented into it.
     
  13. Dev is generally more stable after a new release as it's purely bug fixes. But current Dev is very stable and better than release.

    sorry im back another question is there a way to make it where Citizens dont have the name of the city before there name
    having the city pretitle and post title makes names really long

    It seems that new players are able to build on newly-claimed, for-sale (but not sold) plots even if the permissions are set so that they can only build in their plots. The towny configs are set to disallow town building by residents, and the wild building permission nodes have not been given to these players. Here is our config: http://www.pastie.org/2469992
     
  17. Edit the modify_chat.format in config to set whatever elements you want to show/not show.

    Grab Dev version, it fixes the errors reading the new config.
    Also check for certain the perms are off for residents with /town. If on type '/town set perm resident off'

    How well does Towny work with other plugins that modify the chat (e.g. iChat, HeroChat)?
     
  19. I believe HeroChat is fine, but iChat ignores any modifications by other plugins.

    Try using the dev version, I recently switched to it because I was having a similar error when attempting to claim land. The dev version seems to be quite a bit more functional atm. I just cant wait until they put in embasseys.


    Also is there a way to add this to Bukkituptodate?

    Is the dev version safe enough to use? I really need the piston fix. Also, will I lose any config options (including town/nation levels) or is that annoyance truly put to bed?

    Hi, i tried updating from 0.74 to 0.75.1 but it seems the town data doesn´t load anymore. The town file still holds claimed plots but they don´t show on /towny map. Using CB 1060, anything i´ve missed?
