    Introduction to Heroes
    Heroes is a dynamic, flexible and highly configurable class, skill and experience system. Heroes itself is the hub of your players RPG experience, boasting classes, multi-tiered and fully fleshed out. Along with classes, Heroes offers your players a new style of PvP through our well-developed skill system and our weapon + armor restrictions. No longer will your mages have the ability to use diamond swords, your rogues will no longer sneak around in their heavy diamond tunics and most importantly, you can now hurl fireballs and stun your targets. The best part of this? It's your choice how your Heroes is set up, don't want a certain skill, that's fine, you can just remove the skill and be done with it! We're working towards making everything about Heroes configurable.

    What can I do with it?
    With Heroes, you can do almost anything you'd want to do on an RPG server. The main feature is our customizable tiered class system, which offers as much to the server owner as possible. Your Heroes could be totally unique to your server, it could be the reason players play your server over a server with Heroes but a different set up. The same can be said about our skill system, it's unique to any of the other RPG plugins out there. Other plugins dub "Skills" as methods which you level up, this isn't the case with Heroes. Skills are things you can do which are unique to your class. Some of our favorite skills are Fireball, Jump and Port. This is what makes Heroes unique.

    What will you help me with?
    We'll help you with errors. That is where it ends. We will not be supporting your issues with your configuration files unless it's a bug within our code. Heroes is a big plugin and it's taken a few months to develop, we don't want to spend the next few months supporting silly issues rather than developing new and awesome features. Posting in this thread with an issue regarding a YML file will get you ignored. We'll be OK with helping you understand the configuration files, but we will not be fixing them for you.

    Where can I download it?
    You can download the latest recommended build here. You can download only the primary Heroes jar or the primary jar along with all the skills provided in a ZIP archive. Each skill inside the ZIP is enclosed in it's own jar, meaning you can pick and choose what skills you want your server to run. This is so you don't have un-necessary weight on your server.

    • Classes
      • Permission nodes to set what classes are obtainable for the default user
      • Custom class names
      • 'Parent | Child' optional relationship, (example HEALER -> CLERIC)
      • Configurable inventory restrictions
    • Permitted Skills
      • Skills in the base platform of Heroes
      • All permitted skills start with /skill <skillname>
      • Allows for developers to add in their own code for new skills
      • Adjustable through skills.yml or overwritten in classes.yml
    • Permission Skills
      • Based on the permission-node system, ability to set the level required to learn certain permission-nodes to have a highly configurable system.
      • Does not use the /skill prefix - Permission skills copy the original command exactly.
      • Also works with non-command required Permission nodes (ie. Firelord for special armor abilities for certain classes)
      • Example: herosneak.sneak can be granted to a "Rogue" class at level 10 - so when they reach level 10 - they can now use the ability /sneak
    • Binding Skills
      • Ability to '/bind <skillname>' to an item to right click and use that skill
      • Use '/bind' again to clear the bind and remove the right click ability
      • Currently only works for Permitted-Skills
    • Inventory Restriction
      • Armor & Weapon restrictions based on level and class
      • Configurable in classes.yml [DIAMOND]
    • Levels
      • /level - to show information about the level - comes with a nice interface to show you how much left to obtain the next level.
      • Set a mastery level - once achieved the user may switch to different classes and have their level/skills saved on the mastered class.
      • Configurable curves of exp to make lower levels easier and higher levels harder to get through
      • Optional Health gain per level
      • Configurable loss of exp (0.10 = 10% per death) by current level
    • Exp-Sources
      • SKILL - exp for using a skill
      • CRAFTING - exp for crafting an item
      • MINING - exp for mining blocks
      • KILLING - exp for slaying mobs
      • LOGGING - exp for jacking lumber
      • PVP - exp for PVP
    • Health/Damage
      • Set environmental damage
      • Set monster health/damage
      • Allow bed healing for players to regenerate health in bed!
      • Set player health (works with heart ratios)
      • Set across the broad item damage or override single classes in class.yml
    • Mana
      • /mana - shows the current amount of mana - caps at 100%.
      • Server wide regen of mana - default is 5% mana regen every 5-6 seconds.
      • Configurable mana regen rate

      • EXP-Sharing - on/off

    Antidote - Cures you of Poisons!
    AssassinsBlade - Your blade applies poisons!
    Backstab - Extra damage when attacking from behind
    Bandage - Bandages the target + Cures Bleeds
    Barrage - Fire a Barrage of Arrows around you.
    Battery - Gives your target mana
    Blackjack - Occasionally stuns your opponent
    Bladegrasp - Blocks incoming melee damage

    we aren't using Spout at the moment
    This really isnt what we had in mind for the plugin, we're trying to keep currency events down to a minimum - it is possible just not sure if its what we want.

    I havent been on the forums lately, but i tested an fixed your problem, here is the file: just copy everything from it and paste it under the last working class (delete your hunter class in your plugins folder and replace with this.)

    Maybe behavior like McMMO, where a permission node dictates who is affected by the Plugin? Like 'heroes.access' would be required for interaction with the Plugin. Would that be possible/ easier than toggles/ what you meant by multi-world behavior?

    So I was poking around on the Herocraft wiki for ideas on how to nail down my classes (no, I'm not going to plagiarize your setup), I saw you had variable damage for some classes tied to specific items...like the Dragoon uses a shovel as a lance and the casters use scythes since they don't get swords. (I refuse to call it a hoe)

    Is this doable with the public release, or is this a testphase/private feature?

    I want to combine Factions plugin and Heroes. But fireballs set players on fire in a safezone and i don't know how to stop this. Even in worldguard regions, there is no option to stop these firy players.

    Does anyone know what to do?

    Brilliant plugin. Going straight onto my server.
    Although, i don't know if this has been asked already, but is it possible to add different leveling systems, eg. Crafting leveling (possibly craft more complex things or craft more efficiently), Mining leveling (mine faster and use better picaxes), etc.
    This would be instead of, for instance, when i mine my warrior level may go up, which seems an odd thing to be increasing for going mining.
    I know this will add more of a runescape feel to the plugin, but this is the direction i see this plugin heading.
    Just my opinion :)

    Well, my heroes worked before when I used PB+Superperms but when I re-downloaded it, and made a fresh Heroes directory, I encounter those error's.

    Well I've played around and at least for me I was getting these with BukkitContrib.jar at every server tick. Also with Citizens I get what looks like a similar error on that plugin startup but it doesnt persist. Absolutely fine with a bare bukkit+bukkitpermission+superpermbridge+heroes install though.

    Edit: I'm using BukkitContrib from here. Maybe its an incompatible version of contrib, or maybe the plugin is on the way to spout? anyway good luck :)

    Also while I'm here I've noticed a bug where you can equip things you're class does not permit by having an empty (hand) slot selected, and placing the item into it.

    Hi, i have problem with fireball - it doesn't work at all, just send message "123 cast fireball" but no damage no fire also i have this problem with icebolt. In config damage isn't 0.

    We haven't added support for SuperPerms yet.
    No clue - you failed to actually respond with our required support info.
    BukkitContrib is required for the inventory protection to work. We'll be adopting our own or moving to spout soon
    Okay, please code these spells using our plugin developer kit. THANKS!
    Grant that skill to that class?
    As stated above, most to all of this is configurable - please read the defaults

    Is there a way to stop it from making hero files for NPCs? Every now and then it randomly loads all hero files for npcs and lags the server a bit.

    I have been trying to adjust the damages per class per item. I was wondering if someone could show me an example of the config file I would need to use. Have tried many things and nothing seems to work for me. Please help!

    Hello... amazing plugin! I seem to be getting the could not pass custom_event in console some have mentioned though.. but it still seems to function properly. What I'd like to know is, is there a way to stop it from spamming the chat window every time you break a block?

    "Heroes: Warrior: Gained 1.5 Exp" gets realllllly old after the 200'th time

    Check your /hero 2 (heroes commands 2nd page). Second command down there is /hero verbose.
    That kills the mana and exp gain messages.
