    Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two.     People can't log into my 1060 Bukkit Server!:
    Are you using spout? If so, you need to upgrade it to a dev version or disable it until those guys release a 1060 compatible version.

    How do I know if I'm running CB XXXX or higher?:
    Type /version. The number here is your CB version:

  4. Are you kidding me? I already replied... You'd think you'd learn to read when someone quotes a post with you in it...

    I'd go read some tutorials on how to use whatever permissions plugin you're using, because multiverse uses permissions, it does not define how they should be used. I will help people out with MV2 and PermsBukkit but I simply do not have the time to help out with every permissions plugin that crops up, so I've decided to help with the official Bukkit one.

    The same works for multiverse 2 portals: multiverse.portal.access.BLAH

    This error is harmless. If you want it to go away, upgrade to CB 1042 and Multiverse 2 which can be found at ci.onarandombox.com

    MV2 Update:

    For those of you wondering why I keep telling people to get MV2, it's because all of us on the Multiverse Team are REALLY tired of supporting 1.7.2. MV2 has been written so that it is much easier to debug and find bugs.

    Why isn't the OP updated to 2? Well we can't. Since MV2 requires a non-RB. But there are bunches of us using it without issue.

    Still skeptical? Join our test server at beta.zomgameservers.com and we'll give you 99% of the MV permissions right there so you can see the difference in 2!

    i run bukkit 1000 but when multiverse is on it makes my server crash and i have to close it it gives no errors witch is the stange thing but i cant run 935 because if i do my big brother wont work =/

    I'm running MV 1.7.2 with 1000. Tried both perms 3 and 2.7.2. Nothing works. The plugin loads, the config files are all there but its not actually loading anything.

    Ok so I've removed the multiverse folder and replaced the jar, and redoing my portals and worlds and it works... for now.

    just curious about the status of the sign portals component. i much prefer that method for player created portals and its basically the only reason im still using 1.7.2...on the jenkins page for it its listed as 'disabled'. are there plans to continue work on it eventually?

    That makes a lot of sense.

    I will probably use the thing I made, partly because I don't want to feel like I wasted all that time but mainly because it also provides a per-world /rules command which I also needed ;)

    I am using 1042 on my server and there have been no problems. The best way to find that out would be to just try it though, nothing fatal is likely to happen and you can always downgrade.

  14. Yes, definetly. Here's the story with SignPortals:

    Basically, This was the first type Rigby had working with MV2, but I didn't want to work on it at first because it seemed like one of the easiest types to work on. However, as time has gone on, supporting not one, not two, but three seperate MV plugins has proved to be quite a chore, even in beta. Basically, this plugin will be done as soon as time allows. I think I may go have a look today, since rumor is it just needs some fixes...

    I couldn't have said it better than @Jacek myself.

    Seriously people, please stop asking "if x y z is going to work?" Give it a try, and if our wiki states it (https://github.com/Herocraft/Multiverse-Core/wiki) then it should work.

    The links are currently at ci.onarandombox.com If you're going to use the beta, ALWAYS grab the latest builds. We will start using the RB system for Multiverse once we release.

    Also, Make sure you're on 1042, there are new memory features that MV2 uses that can help servers running multiple worlds handle even more.

    awesome. i have been eagerly awaiting upgrading to mv2 in general but losing signportals is kinda not an option at this moment...are they going to be backwards compatible? not a big deal if i have to rebuild them but that would be nice lol :) good luck, hopefully its just a few minor fixes to get it caught up [cake]
     
  16. Should be, but I think that'll be, as you said, a backward compatability. I think the new ones will support MV2's new concept of Destinations.

    Oh, spoiler alert: The new Destination i'm working on: PlayerDestination.

    org.bukkit.World.setKeepSpawnInMemory sounds a bit like the memory thing that was mentioned, what version of CraftBukkit did you install ? Was it >= 1042 ?

    I see this NPE fairly frequently: http://pastebin.com/S6YQcUZR It doesn't seem to have any adverse side effects, but I sure would like to get rid of it. Any chance of posting the source so I can at least deploy a local fix for my server (which I'd be happy to share back via a git pull)? I understand the next version is soon, but in case "soon" happens to be another few weeks/months, I'd love to be able to fix this myself in the mean time.

    Can I setup MV so that when you tp through a portal you can't take back the items you gained in that world? I'd like to add a creative world to our server, but I don't want them to come back with a bunch of free materials. Can anyone help? or can someone tell me if a plugin like that exists

    MultiVerse does not provide this functionality. However you can use it along with MultiInv to accomplish what you want. I use this on my server and it works great.

    Okay, I'm having some problems. I'm using CB1000 with Permissions 1.3.5 (because i have mcmmo 1.0.50) and the newest MultiVerse. Whenever i do /pr player w:world parents add builder (because promote/demote doenst work right, yes tracks are set correctly), it gives them builder status just fine. But, after about 15 minutes it reverts them BACK to the guest rank in all worlds. This didn't happen before i isntalled multiverse. Any ideas?

    Not sure if it's a Permissions or MV problem, so posting it here as well as the Perm. thread.

  25. This is aproblem with perms. MV simply enables more worlds than normal (a normal server having 2, world and world_nether)

    Yes. newest builds require 1042, as the wiki I linked states. (Here it is again in case someone else stumbles on this: https://github.com/Herocraft/Multiverse-Core/wiki )

    Think we covered this in IRC, but for the rest of you: All we're waiting on for MV2 is the next Bukkit RB. The non-rb builds are quite stable, and if you have questions come in IRC and ask. Currently the MV2 Devs are using 1042.

    They will, but you'll have to change your MV tool. MV2 supports worldedit much better (ie using it's regions) so if you are ok with upgrading your CB to 1042+ on ci.bukkit.org, then i'd highly recommend upgrading to MV2.
