    I've been playing with redstone and falsebook for craftbukkit for a while now and thought I'd try my hand at creating a counter for a spleef arena. This went well and worked like a charm but while creating said counter I discovered that placing blank signs on glowstone/soulsand and a switch placed next to it, it resulted in being able to turn glowstone on and off, thus the glowstone dot-matrix display was born.

    I'm not too sure but I'm pretty positive that this has never been done before using this method, I haven't seen anyone using this method on youtube or any searches on google. I hope to start work scaling up this project and creating a ticker that displays words. Would be nice to start seeing others attempts at using this method. I bet some very clever people could create some fantastic display animations.

    Hope you all enjoy.

    Disparate

    Sure, this I knew. My point was that the error seems to be eminently reproducible if you use detection signs. Since I have put Falsebook on the server the number of chests and signs blanking has gone up exponentially. Since asking all my players to remove their detection signs last night, we've not had one incident. We'll see how it goes I guess, but right now I am very suspicious.

    ive used this for a very long time, and its only since we got forced to start a new map that we have had problems (hacker deleted all our files F*cking hackers) the way i was looking at it was our old map was huge and we had 4 of them, this map not very big so when a chunk was hit on the old server the odds of it a: being populated and b:having a sign or a chest was low therefore we never noticed it (1 incident to memory and we had loads of falsebook ics)
    new map being small the odds of a and b dramatticly increase (we have had 3 incidances)

    im willing to accept im wrong of course

    the thing that is worrying me is communication from @GeMoschen appears to have stopped

    Well I am not saying outright that I am correct, but the evidence is stacking up. we were having chunks fail at a rate of 3 an hour before we removed the detectors, with them gone we have had zero issues in 18 hours. Our map is fairly big ( I think - not sure what the current measure is) at 3600 x 3600 and until we updated to bukkit 1000 and the lastest Falsebook we had never had an error like this.

    To add more info for GeMoschen (good to see you are about by the way mate!) there is definitely something hinky here. I have deleted every 0272 and 0271 sign and removed the blocks and levers attached to them but when I boot the server, every single one of them (about 20) shows up on the "Broken ICs" list as still being there but none functional. Again, as stated earlier, if you go to where they were and put a block and lever down but not the sign, the detector springs back into life. I have even gone so far as to delete all data in the "sensorlist.db" file but they are still they persist.

    Really hope this can be fixable as the sensor signs are just awesome and make the game world a far better place.

    awesome job but can you add to next patch that buttons also get triggered by [x] signs and not only levers otherwise this is freaking awesome plugin probly the best! :)

    Just to add, we had a similar problem - different a lot in what happenned, same in the principle (about the signs persisting and stuff).
    We have a lwc setting that every sign you place is automatically protected (as if you used /cprivate on it) and the block under it too. About 3 days ago our server has updated bukkit and (not mentioning that 80% of the doors/bridges stopped working totally) we have found a very annoying bug.

    When someone places a sign using [Door Down] on the second line, it protects it and the block underneath it as usual. BUT when the player removes the sign and the block again and lets someone else place something there, it always protects to the old user and wipes the sign. The only solution we found is to place them again by the original user and have them /cremove the protection.

    The weird thing is that normally you don't have to /cremove and it never persists data for the block like that.

    This may seem a bit messy and irrelevant, but it's certainly not supposed to work that way and it's similar to what Disparate posted, so I wrote it down anyway, hoping it will help developers to fix the problem...

    Hello. I found this Plugin is pretty cool and started to test it on my server.
    I did not tested all of its features, but some do work so i can say the plugin does work.
    But i encoutered 2 problems:
    1) Eject Blocks are not working.
    It says "Eject Block created", but i still drive over it without getting ejected.
    2) Depositing/Collecting wont work for me either.
    I place the ironore, then a rail on top of it. it says "...created..., place sign under it ..."
    then i place the sign with "[Collect]" on second line and "all" at third line.
    (same with "[Deposit]") then i place the chests beside the ironore and nothin happens
    if a storage minecart drives over it - _ -

    do i do something wrong?
    i have got Server Build Bukkit 1000.

    i have a big problem with the permission part of this plugin
    i using build 1000, permissions 3.1.6 and the newest build of Falsebook

    Code:
        neuer:
            default: false

                prefix: ''
                suffix: ''
                build: true
            inheritance:
            permissions:

            - 'lwc.protect'

            - 'falsebook.ic.0111'
            - 'falsebook.ic.1110'
    this is the permission of a group. But they cant use all of the falsebook thinks which i allowed them.

    FalseBook v.0.87alpha DEV#3

    I have searched Google and these forums for some definition for all the lines in the falsebookcart.properties file, but I cannot find one.

    I appear to be having cart speed issues on ramps when using powered rails (cart stops cold and falls back down the ramp) and cannot figure out how to make it work again like before I added falsebook.
    Code:
    BoosterBlock2x=14

    doFrictionFix=false
    setSlowWhenEmpty=true
    useSimpleCartSystem=true
    removeCartOnExit=false
    killCartsOnCollision=false
    Can anyone clue me in on what I may be missing?

    Edit: Basically I want to have Stations and CollectDeposit, but the rest of my rail to work just like it did before. I know the upgrades and fixes are cool, (faster carts, no friction, etc...) I just don't want them on this server. Can I do this?

    Yeah, LWC and this plugin fight like mad. I eventually had to remove all auto-registering for everything in the game in LWC as it was impossible to even get Falsebook ICs built half the time. The guys who maintain those 2 plugins could do with getting together and chatting about how to make them more compatible.

    Just a further note on my original post - another few days on with no Detector signs and we have not had a single bug....

    We on our server found a fatal DUPE BUG that allows to dupe soulsand blocks and is very easy to use.

    I try to explain it with my low english skills. =D
    You have to build the following construction (it's a normal piston):

    [IMG]

    Then one click on the lever causes this szenario:

    [IMG]

    You'll get one soulsand block and one glowstone block.
    I think this bug is caused by following:
    The falsebook code seems to check if there's a redstone connection to the soulsand block. So at the time when the redstone is powered the soulsand block is replaced by a glowstone block. But in the same time the sticky piston is activated by the redstone connection and makes an upward movement with the orginial soulsand block. Also, the movable part of the piston gets replaced by the glowstone block from Falsebook. If you repeat clicking on the lever, you'll get many soulsand blocks.
    Maybe this bug can be fixed by checking, if the soulsand block marches upon a piston, and the don't replace it by glowstone!

    I hope you'll fix this bug and until this is done I unfortunately have to disable the glowstone/soulsand replacement thing.

    Does anyone have the link to 0.86.2? Can't seem to find it anymore and I don't trust the dev version yet.

    The Bug should be fixed in DEV #3.

    That sounds really nice. I searched but didn't find anybody who found this bug, too. So it's good to hear that this will be fixed! =)

    mhh.. are you using 0.87 dev #3? It should already be fixed there.

    @All:
    The PistonExtend/PistonRectract error is fixed with the next version! Please be patient :)

    Do you have an archive with the older versions, like 0.82.2?

    Heys, got a question about these 2 IC's:

    [MC1230] - IS IT DAY
    [MC0230] - IS IT DAY

    Im trying to make the bell of a church 'ring' the actual hours (or at the least 3,6,9,12) but im having some trouble with the mentioned IC's, the first one MC1230 is missing the params of the second one, the two 'timestamps' to look between, while the second one, the MC0230 doesnt seem to self trigger?

    Ive made a few self triggered ones, having these as times:
    3 o'clock: 2500 - 3500
    6 o'clock: 5500 - 6500
    9 o'clock: 8500 - 9500
    12 o'clock: 11500 - 12500
    But none of them ever triggered :(
    Then i tried the non-self-trigger one (without the params and with a input going from low to high) and it also wouldnt work?

    This is on bukkit #1000 with Falsebook 0.87 B3

    Any ideas?

    -----------

    It isnt, it happens 9 out of 10 times on my server too, to do with lag im sure.

    -----------

    also, unrelated small question, when theres a broken IC, how do i remove it? i get a warning during boot, tryed making a new IC in that spot and breaking it again, no change
