    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

Can you make the possiblity that if you put (for example) somebody in a group while he has never joined the server, that when he joins he automatically joins the channel for the group he is in?

I'm unsure how to use the /g (message) to talk in the global channel. When people join, they are in the local and global channels, and when they speak, they speak in the global channel automatically.

You should add {group} to wiki site. Also custom variables from Permissions would be more than good.

Ahh. When people join multiple channels, the most recently joined channel is the one that receives the focus (unless the user changes their channel focus). They can chat to other channels using the shortcut (like /g or whatever you assign).

For new users, you can try moving the global channel BEFORE the local channel definition in the config file. This will cause HeroChat to load the global channel's config (and subsequently auto-join the player to global) first; then it will load the Local channel and auto-join the user to local. Since Local ends up being the most recently joined, it (I believe) will end up receiving the focus by "default".

For existing users, this will not work because their current settings are persisted a YAML file at plugins/HeroChat/users.yml. You have two options here - delete this file (it's generated at runtime and just keeps track of everyone's active channel, mod status, etc) and a new one will be generated on server startup - therefore everyone will be "new" to HeroChat and Step 1's actions should fix your problem.

You other option is to edit this file and change every user's active-channel: to "local" but this is NOT recommended, mostly because if you do it wrong at all it'll break. (You can always delete it or restore from a backup if you mess it up)

Make sure your server is shut down during any changes to either config.yml or users.yml

Doubling prefixes is caused by essentials. Just go into the config file and remove the prefix from showing in chat format.

    It says;

Hey there Dthielke, I am currently using the Factions plugin: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/se...war-and-user-controlled-antigrief-1000.19063/

It tries to insert a Faction tag before each player's chat message, but it is incompatible with HeroChat. This is his message to any chat plugin authors:
"Chat events now store a list of intended recipients, via event.getRecipients(). If you need the chat message to only reach certain players due to local or channel chat, instead of cancelling the chat event and using player.sendMessage(), you can instead alter the list of recipients and remove anyone who shouldn't receive the message. Your plugin will then play nicer with other plugins which modify chat messages. As a usage example, Essentials uses this to remove people from a chat message's recipient list if they are ignoring the person speaking:
    https://github.com/essentials/Essen.../essentials/EssentialsPlayerListener.java#L69"

Do you think it would be feasible to implement this change?
