    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

Hi and thank you for this plugin ! I really enjoy it. Everything works fine. Prefixes are working in all my groups except for one, the default. I really don't understand why this one doesn't works. I did exactly like the other groups.. Don't know if you have an idea of what I could have done wrong. Here's my config and my permissions config ! Thanks !

Yeah, I also tried it with the server off. I have the server off. I make the changes, save them and start the server. It then overwrites the join -GroupA and -GroupB with []. I have no idea why it keeps doing that.

I don't think this is possible, I'm working on an add-on plugin for HeroChat (waiting until 5.0 is almost ready to really get cracking on it), maybe I can add this as a feature.

5.0 is in the works, but the author of this also works on Heroes and they're trying to finish that for release. This version still works with build 1000 (although it doesn't seem to like SuperpermBridge that comes with PermissionsBukkit, but that's SuperpermBridge's fault).

Tried using the redmine, but it required something it called "confirmation" to register so...
We updated our plugins earlier tonight, now herochat's commands won't work. There are no errors being put out, there were not changes in herochat, and even reinstalling it has not worked. We updated falsebook, LWC, Bigbrother ,commandbook and spyer admin. Does anyone have any suggestions?

More specifically, /ch commands aren't working, so no one can change channels.
/g and /h and such commands work fine. (the quick chat ones)
    as well as /qm

Is it possible that you can have multiple local chat radius?

Like.. you can switch between local chat mods (whisper, speak and shout) and give different radius to these modes.

Also a Wallblockoffchat function would be NICE!
    but could be laggy.

    thanks in advance sir @DThielke

I'm having problems with multi-grouped users. Every one of their groups has to have permissions to chat in a channel. So if I want a "donator tier 1" to chat in the "city" chat, I have to make sure that all things that donator tier 1 has is in the herochat permissions.

My server was able to accomplish this by simply copying the local chat, and pasting it at the end of the config, renaming it, and resetting the radius to what we wanted.

    Tibs

Make sure you have craftIRC set to NOT send chat to/from irc.

disable chat to/from irc in CraftIRC config.
    Code:
        game-to-irc:
          all-chat: false
    ..
            events:
              game-to-irc:
                all-chat: false
              irc-to-game:
                all-chat: false
              irc-to-irc:
                all-chat: false

And then you can define in HeroChat config if you want that channel to go to irc or not.

enable chat to/from irc in HeroChat
    Code:
            craftIRC:
                game-to-IRC:
                - channel-name
                IRC-to-game:
                - channel-name

disable chat to/from irc in HeroChat
    Code:
            craftIRC:
                game-to-IRC: []
                IRC-to-game: []

It is confusing because you can use both mods to send chat to irc.

to enable chat to/from irc in CraftIRC config.
    Code:
            events:
              game-to-irc:
                all-chat: true
                actions: true
              irc-to-game:
                all-chat: true
                actions: true
              irc-to-irc:
                all-chat: false

The channels defined in CraftIRC are the channels that the bot connects to on the irc server, these do not have to have any relation to the rooms defined in HeroChat.

You can have any number of rooms in HeroChat and have them all go to the same channel in irc or have them go to different irc channels.

    DHowett

Huh? It seems to work wonderfully here, except for it trying to use permission value nodes, which isn't SuperpermBridge's fault at all; it's missing due to a design decision in superperms itself.
It might actually be HeroChat's fault for not storing group-related prefixes in its own config... not that the notion of groups even really exists in superperms itself.

yeah this doesn't seem to be any different than what i'm doing but i'm still getting all herochat channels routed to IRC even though i've told it to route none. if I change all the craftirc settings to false I get no chat at all going to IRC.

You do realize that it is neithers fault? As it hasn't been updated to 1000, and therefore, will not be touching Superperm.

It works on 1000, for any one who needs to ask. Just use anything but Superperm, BukkitPerm, or anything like that for Permissions.

  26. This isn't a problem with configuration. For us, HeroChat and CraftIRC was working fine - via the global channel 'tag' - before updating to RB 1000. (Previously we was using some RB of 1.6.6 so I don't know at what point this broke, but there's something definitely wrong with HC's game-to-irc echoing.)

Hey. I was wondering about if I could do something with this plugin using the config, or if I will need to custom code it.

What I want to do is:

When you join, your automatically in the local and global channels. (I've done that with the config already.)

Here is the more complicated part:
When you talk, you always talk in your local channel, but if you want to speak globally, you type /g to talk globally.

We are using the same system now but with ichat, and since our chat is now getting crowded, we are trying to use your plugin. A main reason is that you can leave local or global channels if you don't want to hear them. (Or mute them)

    Thanks for your time.

    -Pilot
