Move it from your downloads folder or where you have it and run it from the commandline

also make sure you don't have any client side mods like too many items, modloader, or zombe's mod pack installed. they will cause the installer to fail

  5. Oh, I have Modloader, toomanyitems and planes mod -> is that why it doesn't work?

wrong thread, and bukkitcontrib doesn't you need to use Player Editor. Plus they will only see your skin if they have the client mod

everybody who has a problem with it conflicting with mcpatcher and other mods:
Use the latest mcpatcher to install this (by the manual version link on the bukkit contrib thread) and put it at the top of the list so any mods that conflict with this will overwrite bukkitcontrib sp's files.

the next version of BukkitContrib will have the HD Patch included

I don't need to fix any thing. You need to run it from the command line

some client side mods block this from installing just do a force update on minecraft and install this to the vanilla jar

    Hello,
For me client mods worked with BukkitContrib, you just have to install BukkitContrib first and then the mods, I had Zombe , Too many items, McPatcher , ModLoader and WorldEdit Client-Side mod working fine with Bukkit Contrib BUT

Since today every time I connected to my server it said that they were a new version of BukkitContrib, tried to install it but got this error
    Code:
    [SEVERE] Problems unpacking minecraft.jar.

Tried all the fixes mentionned in this thread but none of them work, Help ?

This doesnt work for me because its a .jar file and not a .exe and when I open the jar file out of the Downloads folder...It uses WinRar to open up the BukkitContrib.jar file and shows all the archives in the .jar file. I believe that also .jar isnt executable and only .exe for this case.

    Nope
You have to have a clean jar

    A jar is an exacutable

I cleaned my jar and even all my Minecraft, but still it doesn't work. Maybe because of the update it mentionned ?

I found an easy tool to fix the JAR problem. Its called Jarfix and can be found here:
    http://johann.loefflmann.net/en/software/jarfix/index.html
It worked perfectly on my computer and now I can doubleclick on JAR files to run them. Included the BukkitContrib_Installer.jar
