    BukkitContrib is superseded by Spout, the new Bukkit/Client framework.

    I heard the client side doesn't work with mcpatcher. Is this true? I can't get it to work right and I use that so I can have higher resolution texture packs.

    If it doesn't work is there any plan on making it compatible somehow?

    Read post about 5 above. He has integrated HD texture packs into bukkitcontrib. You shouldn't need mcpatcher now for the clientside

    ehumm when enabled forced client mob option sometimes it kicks players even if they DO have the mod :/
    but than they reconnect everything is fine :eek:
    it's no bigdeal but i had to report it anyway !
    thanks afforess for this GREAT plugin and mod :D
    btw no errors are showed during the kick problem :)

    I feel dumb asking lol, but do users need the clent mod to see these things, and is the mod automatically downloaded for them. thank!

    Using a buncha CLient Side mods due to ItemCraft: Kslopes, Mo Creatures, StainedGlass, Modload, ModloaderMP, AudioMod, GUI API, and Planes mod with MC Patcher.....

    When I try to add your Client side, I get a black screen. I take it it is because you added HD and MC Patcher is fighting with your Patch? Or is there another conflict? I would LOVE to use this for all the other plugins.. but I need to get my client side working before i give my users the go ahead.

    yes, they need the client mod to see changes. no it is not downloaded automatically, they need to download the installer and run it.

    I'm quite positive that ItemCraft will conflict with BukkitContrib.
    It hasn't been added yet, it will be added in the next release

    Even with modloader? and all that jazz thats supposed to make mods work together? This makes me a very sad panda.... I REALLY wanted to use BC for capes and titles.... But KSlopes and Mo Creatures is to good to pass up.. UGH.... Any chance of a compatability update?

    First, thanks for the awesome plugin. The capability I love most is the server-side inventory management API that LogBlock ties into for chest logging, that rocks!

    I've noticed since 1.7.x and, correspondingly, v0.1.2 and v0.1.3 that when I install BukkitContrib (server-side), time slows down. I run a smallish server (~20 people on at any one time) and this happens when there are more than 5 or 6 people on at one time (but this does not happen on my local test server with just me logged in, it requires some player load to reproduce).

    With BukkitConrib v0.1.2 installed on #953 and now with BukkitConrib v0.1.3 installed on #970, I've tested running CommandBook's '/debug time'. With a handful of players on, this returns abysmal results and it's most obvious effect is day/night running long and during dawn/dusk cycles you can visually see the sun/moon stutter. I uninstall BukkitContrib and everything is back to normal, moving along great at 20 ticks/sec.

    Since my quick scan of the forums shows that this doesn't seem to be a widespread issue amongst BukkitContrib server operators, either no one is reporting it or perhaps this is a conflict between BukkitContrib and one of my plugins?     Can you give me more details? Specific players only? How often?

    Users need the client mod to see the changes.

    BukkitContrib is intentionally designed to be incompatible with numeruos client mods. Client mods are designed wrong, and I can not fix that without rewriting how they are handled. Much like Bukkit is incompatible with SMP mods, BukkitContrib will be incompatible with SP mods.

    Modloader doesn't really make mods work that well together. As as tool, I would rate modloader as a complete failure.

    I suggest you keep BukkitContrib and CommandBook on your server, and just test it with those 2 with a few players. If there is lag, it's clearly BukkitContrib. If not, search for the conflict by adding plugins back.

    If it's an issue with BukkitContrib, I'd be happy to address it. If not, I can't be held responsible for the code of every plugin on your server. ;)

    It's not in 0.1.3, it will be in 0.1.4

    So...I'm not sure if I missed a post by you, or if you missed a post by me, or your ignoring me because I might be "doing it wrong" or whatever. So heres a 1080p youtube video of the issue:

    It details me first force updating minecraft, then downloading the latest minimap mod, aplying it (working), then downloading bukkitcontrib, aplying it (working, but now no minimap).
    If I can be of any help (logs, more videos, testing, you name it) please let me know. The video is merely there so you can watch it and go:

    Either way I'll be happy. Like I said, let me know if I can be of any help.
    EDIT: Also, I would happy to make a tutorial video on how to install BC manually if you like for the OP, just let me know.
    I also have my own Client-Auto-Patcher program I have written. It only works on windows tho, so it's pretty much inferior in everyway to the one you have linked in the op, but it has the added benifit of ALSO getting other client mods and installing them along with CB. I'll upload it if you think it would be useful, but honstly its pretty much just a bat file I whipped up.

    I confirm the issue.

    I think the best solution is to add it as the official minimap, and allow servers to enable/disable it if they want. Feel free to comment/suggest other ideas though.

    Sounds like a plan. Like I said, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't freaking crazy. I know you have 10,000 things on your plate and 20,000 people nagging you, with a good chunk of them about things that probably at best are only losely related to your mod. Keep up the good fight!

    Okay, that's nice, thanks for the awnser... Is the Zan's Minimap compatible with it?
    Also, how can we know when a new version comes? I mean, the alpha 0.1.3 is for the bukkit plugin,right(and it updates automatically)? How about the clientmod, where can I see if a new version has been released? The clientmod doesn't update itself, does it? Sorry, I'm new at this... Plugins that work client-side too are still confusing to me -.-

    Got some weird problems. Without BukkitContrib, client will run for hours without any random crashes. With Bukkitcontrib, it does it about 2-3 times a day.

    Run it in console mode so you can see the exception logs and then give the logs to me.

    To run MC in console mode:

    1.) Create a minecraft folder somewhere you will remember (like on your desktop)
    2.) Download this: http://www.minecraft.net/download/minecraft.jar?v=1310346615402
    3.) Put the file you downloaded in the folder from step 1.
    4.) Create a bat (or sh file if on a unix machine) file in the folder from step 1. Can be done by creating a blank text document and changing the extension to .bat (or .sh)
    5.) Open the bat/sh file in a text editor
    6.) Put this text in the file:
    (If you are on a unix machine, omit the last line (the line with "pause")

    7.) Run the bat/sh file
    8.) Minecraft should appear, but with a console window that shows some text. Hide the console window, play the game. When the game crashes, an exception log will appear in the window. Paste it here, and I will fix it next release.

    will lets see ... i really said pretty much everything !
    no it happens to all players i know ..
    and it happens on the login( few seconds after you log in, but rarely in other times)
    and ehummm .... that's pretty much it, it's just like sometimes the mod do not idenfy the mod for the first try ..
    than you try again and it does work :/
    lets see... what can i gave more, well i use only zombe mod, and world edit's client mod
    the other player have only zombe mod, other one have no mods !
    ehumm it happens rarely .. not a lot for sure that's why i said it's not a big deal .. but it still happens sometimes
    i'm not sure what's the casue of the problem ..but i've tried to connect to my friends server he uses the plugin as focred mod mode ..
    and that same problem accords

    Courtesy of one of my users. I strongly suspect he needs to update Java, but he says he cant because he's on an older mac.

    On the ManualInstal it just blacks out after I put it...

    EDIT: Forget it it's working perfectly on my Custom Client... Even added the minimap mod for everyone in my server...

    But when will there be MCPatcher support? Or maybe the built-in like you said... I can't get it to work normally, it's definitly incompatible...

    Could you please provide some examples of how to use your BukkitContrib?? I have no clue how to register for those inventory events. BukkitContrib does not hold any PluginManager which i can use to register any events with, so how do i do it?
