    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

You got me there. I wouldn't have the slightest clue what I was talking about when it comes to Permissions. Hell, I don't even know how to set them up. Just look at my post history. Almost completely worthless posts all in threads about anything besides Permissions.

Edit - on the helpful side, if any changes were to be made it would be in Permissions. That should free up some space in the HeroChat thread.

Nope, see here it is McMyAdmin's fault, as Permissions clearly states:

Whenever I change anything at all in the config.yml folder and then reload server all changes revert back to original, can somebody tell me why this is happening?

  9. Offline

    xZise

    Try calling “/ch reload”.

As you don't need any permission to join a channel. Could you show the configuration? and what is the newest version of permissions/herochat? Those relative information is useless. I mean I answered 4 hours later. Could you please show the output of “/pr <username> parents listall” and replace <username> with your username. If you are using the command in the console use “pr <username> w:<world> parents listall” instead.

Where did I ever say that world specific files werne't created? Oh wait "The global files are the only ones that get modified by McMyAdmin..." oops. World specific files ARE in fact created. My point was that the Permissions integration that McMyAdmin uses simply focuses on globals rather than per world perms. Anywho, mcma is doing it correctly, yet it doesn't work. Still probably Permissions' fault(not sure). I'm just clarifying.

Works perfectly fine. Is there a way to have the world prefix a single letter though? Other than naming the world.. a single letter. :)

Im having a problem with my chat channels aren't showing up . Does anyone know why this would be happening?

  15. Offline

    xZise

Ah okay. But if the world specific files don't get modified my McMyAdmin?! Now actually, I don't know how McMyAdmin works, and I luckily could use SSH and normal BASH console.

But then you have to test with the Permissions 3 commands, if there actually is any information, which HeroChat could access.
So for example: /pr g:<group> w:<world> info get prefix or /pr <username> w:<world> info get prefix
They should return something. If it is only a color code it is relatively complex, but if it is with text and the text doesn't shows up, bother Permissions or McMyAdmin. And HeroChat isn't accessing global permissions. The build was released before and why should it.

Any more information from the console/log?

@Chris Lewis: The configuration in the spoiler is useless. Place it please in code tags or post it on a paste bin (google is your friend!). And what command did you exactly (!) input? And which version of Permissions do you use?

I'm also having a chat related issue: Players are not able to actually see the chat in the console until they talk. Once they talk, they are suddenly able to see everyone else talking (the only channel I use is the global one). I get no console messages associated with this error.

    Thank you for your time.

Yeah im waiting for a way that the global files will be read by herochat... love the plugin! but if there is no work around, i might have to switch to ichat.

MyMcAdmin only changes the global files. As far as my faithfulness to this plugin is concerned... its great! Ive been hand changing each new newb that ranks up in my system of ranks on top of using MyMcAdmin just to keep herochat!

Keep up the good work! hopefully we will see some kinda of global yml workaround here in the future :)

Are you back from vacation yet? Should probably take that off unless you've been sitting in an airport for 17 days

Quick question: is this multi-world friendly? Using Multiverse and would love it if the prefixes for what world a user is currently in worked correctly.

Works mostly great but is has a few bugs, such as when using Essentials and other commands it is throwing color codes. Example: Player goes afk and when I use /list they are listed as 7[AFK]fPlayerName....

In general it does not seem to play with Essentials very well.

Crashes, only thing I've edited is gotten rid of all channels other than Global and then disabled nicknames. Something is causing it to clear the config file and then it errors out.
