    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

    Description
Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    Version 1.6.4

    • Fixed 0 Price Portals
    • Fixed a bug with new Portals
    • Updated for iConomy 5 (You will need to update to iCo 5)
    • Improved the PVP Setup
      • Now you no longer have to set the server.properties PVP variable to true... this is now completely done via the worlds config and properly stops PVP rather than preventing the damage from being applied.
    Version 1.6.3

    • Update for Minecraft 1.5 and CraftBukkit build 733
    Version 1.6.2

    • Contains updates/features which were introduced in 1.5
Version 1.6 - Thanks to 'fernferret'

    • Updated for CB Builds 600+
    Version 1.5 - Permissions 2.1+ - (V1.5 - 02/03/2011)[/U]

    • Fixed whitelist/blacklisting once and for all :), thanks to @ledhead900
    • Add permission node 'multiverse.portal.exempt' -- Basically means they don't have to pay the cost of the portal... this is useful for Donors and such.
    • Updated to use iConomy 4.1 -- Would be great if I can get feedback on this... as usual I can only test solo.
    Version 1.4 - Permissions 2.0 & 2.1 - (V1.4 - 26/02/2011 - 01:11 AM GMT)

    • Should be easier on high pop servers now
      • Only checks if a player is within a Portal everytime he changes BLOCK Coordinate instead of every single pixel footstep he/she takes.
    • Now Supports Permissions 2.1 -- Both 2.1 and 2.0 support have seperate JARs, so get the right one.
      • Also commands are properly disabled when a Permissions plugin is not found and it will alert the player trying to use the Command.
    Version 1.3 - Permissions 2.0 - (V1.3 - 24/02/2011 - 02:31 AM GMT)

    • Removed the 'Stupidly Long Constructor'
    • Fixed an error which was loading portals that were on a non existent world which caused errors later on.
    Version 1.2.2 - (V1.2.2 - 23/02/2011 - 03:05 AM GMT)

    • Nothing much just updated so it works with Minecraft Beta 1.3, I suggest you don't use a lower Multiverse build than v1.2.2 otherwise it won't work and errors will occur.
    Version 1.2.1 - (V1.2.1 - 20/02/2011 - 23:35 PM GMT)

    • Changed over to the new Entity Damage...

But if I do players per world I will have to update 3 permission files adding the player to those worlds.

Do you mean have groups in th world files and have players in global? That means I would only have to update 1 file? and groups in each world would allow not only worldguard to work, but the new pplayerts would be put into a group by default. Am I correct? *fingers crossed* players in global but groups in all three worlds? that means I would only have to update 3 files when adding plugins!

  3. Soon. :)

    Jeyge

What you want to do can be better handled with worldcopy and won't cause any of the problems that the "only use global files" people keep running into. Global files are really meant to support the world files not replace them.

  5. Offline

    iMattxC

I gave up and copies files on each world. I still would only like to promote once, not 3 times. At least were on 3.1.5 now! What is world copy?

    Joshpho

Should I prefix all permission nodes with the "-" sign, then? (It appears that the dash was within the quotes, just wanted to make sure it wasn't a typo.)

    Xordaii

I read this and it recommends using Global "for people with multiple worlds and identical permissions". What is worldcopy? Is that the World Mirroring on this page? I read about that, but couldn't get it to work with mirroring, and at some point was told not to use it, it wasn't working. If it isn't that, please link where to learn about it?

Either way, it doesn't have the problem with new users not being added automatically to the file with the default: true group?

    Jeyge

Take a look here at World Mirroring. It does what you want where you would just update one user and then mirror those changes to the other 2 worlds. I think we have derailed this thread enough though so feel free to PM me for further responses.

If you are using Permissions 3.x then all permission nodes should be written as "dash space singlequote permission.node singlequote" or "dash space singlequote dash permission.node singlequote"to negate it so:
    - multiverse.world.remove
should actually be written in the file as:
    - 'multiverse.world.remove'

nope sun does 100% nothing, i have propertime on my server. I was thinking this was the problem 1st. But i removed it and still the same problem. When i restart the server i gonna change the time values in the level.dat.

  12. @Deathmarine - I'm willing to bet that your broken /mv commands are due clashes with another addon. In my case, it was EpicZones and the new RB 928 that caused my /mv commands to go away. Sad that EZ isn't being maintained anymore. :(

Is there any way to limit access to certain portals on a per group basis w/ permissions, or some other method?

Ex: Group Builder2 can access the portal name skylands, but everyone else can not.

    Thanks :)

  14. Not in 1.x. Sorry. This will be supported in 2.

    When will that be out/available?

Is there anything I can do to speed it up? Sorry to be like this, but my server really needs that functionality now!

  18. Not really. Sorry. I suppose you could write a patch for 1.7.2 if you really wanted to. 1.7.2 is open source, and 2.0 will be once it gets to a more stable point.

can you use a zone plugin like WorldGuard? Just make a very small zone around your portal(s) and deny groups access to it. It wouldn't stop console command access, but I don't allow players to us MV commands, so that isn't an issue for me.

If the sun does 100% nothing then this is minecraft, try altering the level.dat but if that fails I doubt anything can be done

gonna try it on next server restart.
    edit, worked

Used exact code you pasted. In globalUsers.yml I have 2 users in the group "default" so I didn't capitalize the D. Didn't think about case sensitivity at all. It then on it's own created a permissions entry under the users "[]".

I don't get perms at all, it appears overly convoluted for me to want to understand it with any significant depth. Nevertheless it all works just fine now, thank you. Oh, and in regards to being more secure, I am using the Whitelist plugin, so I don't see how I'd get someone I don't want on the server screwing something up =P.

    DylanP

WorldGuard has the functionality to block access on a per group basis? Command to do it?
OR, any other zone plugin that can do it?

Can anyone figure out what is wrong with my setup???
EDIT: I left my server offline for a few weeks (i host on my laptop) and today when I loaded the server none of my portals worked. When I checked the cmd window this was the error I recieved.
EDIT #2: Both craftbukkit and multiverse are up to date on my server.

And you were right. So I figured it out which one it was. Residence 2 has a major conflict with Multiverse after I took it out all was well. I kinda had this feeling but was so used to my current setup I'm scared of change. Well loading World guard..... I just wish I didn't need and instruction book to use it

    So I would disable
    SimplePluginManager

Looks like its hatin on the new bukkit and multiverse

I don't have a plugin called simple plugin manager. The closest plugin I have to that is simplegive.

  29. I narrowed the breakage down to CraftBukkit test builds between 910 and 912, which change the way plugins load up. EpicZone and probably many others, use MV as an optional dependency. With the latest RB, there's a new plugin.yml setting which can tell a plugin to load sooner - on 'startup' instead of default 'postworld' - and this hack works with the likes of Permissions v2 (also depended on by many plugins) but not MV. :(

    Hey,

sorry for my bad English but I'm German.... I've got a problem with MultiVerse. First, since 928 it doesn't list all my worlds. This is my Worlds.yml:
    Code:
    worlds:
        world_buk:
            animals: true
            pvp: true

But at /mvlist it only lists two worlds:
    world_buk
    world_buk_nether

    But why? And if I use /mvtp world_buk oder /mvtp world_buk_nether there's an error:
An internal error occured while atttempting to perfom this command
And in the Logs there is:
    Code:

What is wrong there? Ouh, I forgot something. I use CommandBook, and if I am in an another world and use /spawn, I don't get to the main spawn, bu to the /mvspawn. But it must be:
    /spawn = Main Spawn
    /mvspawn = World Spawn
Why is that so buggy at me?
    Waiting for help,

  31. Already been covered many times. MV2 will support this.

Ah, saw this error last night. Now for kicks, do /mvremove on ALL your worlds that show up on the list. this will NOT delete them. it will just remve them from MV.

Then. do /mvimport NAME ENV for ALL your worlds see if that fixes your issue.
