To be honest, now I finished this I'm not even sure I'll use it myself. It was meant to prevent people from messing up both the world and the nether too much (especially since lava is so hard to remove). But they could just make existing lava flow to 'bad' places anyway.

changelog has to show two latest versions without a spoiler
    the post needs a header
    name - description
    Version: version

Over time I've forgotten those last two rules. I'll update my threads.
But I don't agree on the changelog requirement. http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/plugin-release-submission-guidelines.1755/ only gives a suggestion how that detailed changelog is included. As long as there is a changelog it should be ok, imo. If anything, a too long opening post is of no use to anyone.

What do you mean by it "sending a clumpsy update" to the client?

Then you are reading them wrong.
Feel free to PM EvilSeph if you think I'm wrong, but having two last version outside of a spoiler IS required of you.

Well, since the client is showing a wrong state of the bucket, I'm first clearing that item stack/inventory entry. And then I'm sending a delayed update setting back an empty bucket in there again. Though it seems that lately these changes doesn't make it into the client anymore anyway. I'll have to look into that.

so... is this plugin inactive or are you gonna change to post so it can be released?

Well, I wanted to look into something first.
But don't have time for that. At least the basics work and the extras are just to workaround a lack of features in vanilla/bukkit.

So, sure, post changed, thank you.

  10. Could it be compatible with PreciousStone or Worldguard regions ?

I've never used those plugins myself. Do you mean they conflict now? If they do I could perhaps look into it.

I just wanted a small specific plugin that limits use of Lava, because it is so hard to clean up/leaves such a mess.

  12. No conflict, juste want to choose zone where bucket are forbidden !

Doesn't worldguard have its own feature of preventing lava to be placed?

  14. No, Worldguard can disable lava fire, but not prevent placing lava (or water)...

I would like to prevent using bucket in defined ares...

That sometimes happens for me too. But right now I can access the file just fine.
But try this link instead, just for now: http://www.armeagle.nl/StopLava.jar

hey man this thing is perfect for my server. Im just having one problem when you place water on a wall like on the side it still works. if you place water on level ground it removes it as it should. Do you know why its leaving the water when its placed on a wall?

I am using the following plugins:
    BigBrother
    NoWeather
    WorldEdit

Water? I thought my plugin only stopped placing of lava, though that also involves buckets. I need to test my plugins for RB 1000 soon anyway, so I'll look at that then.

If you could make it so there is a option for preventing water, that would be awesome because i want to prevent it!!!

Well, you could just fork my source, rename some stuff and make a StopWater plugin. I'm too busy lately to even just test my own plugins, let alone change them (even if it isn't that much work).

    This breaks Firespread :c

    Breaks it how?

Also, I know I should have tested this plugin for 1000 already, but I've been busy. With the permissions changes I'm hesitant to tackle it while I'm short on time.

Even if firespread is enabled I cannot place fire with flint/steel.

    Version 0.4.

I rebuilt the JAR to CraftBukkit 1060. It seems to work again now.

Can you make it water also?

Technically, sure. But then this plugin wouldn't be 'StopLava' anymore.
The reason I didn't want some people to place lava, is that it is much harder to clear up again.

Anyone is of course welcome to copy my code and make a StopWater plugin.

I know I am a little annoying like more people but no one has a plugin to stop buckets, can you maybe make a plugin that is called: StopBucket? :D
Sorry it is okay if you say no also, I will learn how to code soon.
