Problem/Bug I need help with my server.

I am new to servers. I would like help with plugins. Mainly the permissions plugin. I also need help with my Server as the spawn gets greifed by tekkit items. Please help

As for your spawn i would use Worldguard and set a region

I used worldguard but they somehow got past it. I have just reinstalled it to the latest Tekkit. No longer classic or legends. I need help with permissions. I want to make a permissions systme that shows prefix's but i cant get it working properly. I have tried all of them. Right now i have Essentials Group manager installed.

 

Ah okay so for your permissions i would use PEX aka PermissionsEx
You said they got past it do you mean they are able to build ect ?

 

I sorted the permissionsEx out but it didnt do anything. I didnt have a chat manager. I could do everything. i have made the perms but no prefix apeard in chat

Okay i have edited your permissions file and tested it this should work for you just replace your permissions file in the permissionsEx folder. With this one https://www.dropbox.com/s/m5od79tof0b4yjn/permissions.yml?dl=0

The default rank is New
To give your self Owner use this command in your server console pex user [yourname] group set Owner

 

Do i need to have a chatmanager?

Without a chat manager it doesnt work. I dont get a Prefix next to my name. When i type /plugins it also shows up red

PermissionEx shouldn't show up red when you do /pl maybe try a different version of pex
For the Prefix i would use EssentailsChat

Note: If you have another permissions plugin as well as permissionsEx you may want to remove the other one because that might be why permissionEx isn't working

 

I see that you have added the "modifyworld" permission into the default rank. This was your problem. I also recommend "GroupManager" if you eventually don't like "PermissionsEx", it has prefixes too - don't worry!
