1.7.2-1.9 protocol hack

I am interested if in the future it would be possible to make a 1.7.2-1.9 protocol hacked jar so that players of all versions could join. Te reasone why I wish so is because I know many people which cannot play on newer servers due to older computers and I wish to keep this server open for all to enjoy! Thank you so much!

 

It's not uncommon knowledge that a protocol hack from one version to the next is quite unstable. I'm guessing a protocol hack that jumps up two versions is just plain disaster. I doubt it's a good idea to use it on your server.

I don't understand why the computer matters.

the 1.9 update adds and changes somethings around. Like the inventory for example, there is now a quiver slot. Its possible but its like playing 1.7, makes no sense.

They are also moving away from opengl, changing cloud textures and using shaders instead.
It would almost be impossible.
