So i have this idea for an RPG type server, but there is one plugin that I really need and think would be awesome. I am no plugin creator(Nor coder) myself, so a little help would be awesome! :D

Ok, so the idea is an offering kinda system where you drop specified items into a region/alter thing, just like in ars magica when you are creating a spell, but instead of creating a spell, it runs a command!

    For example:
I want to summon a boss created with another plugin, and to do that, I have to offer a feather and two gold nuggets into the alter. So I build an altar and drops the feather and nuggets into it.
Then the plugin recognizes the items and runs a specified command(/spawnmob boss).
    And there you go!

This could be used for a lot of other things too, like crafting(in a REALLY cool way)!

If there are any plugin like this out there, please tell me! I've been searching for a plugin like this forever!
    Thanks a lot!

@emwa This is such a cool idea. What do you want the altar to look like?

Wow. Just wow. This... This is a great idea. @dsouzamatt You really need to make this xD And I would think you should be able to create your own altar. and just select the points with world edit.

Yeah, that'd probably be the best way to do it. I'll get started now.

@emwa What version do you want this for?

I would think he would want it for 1.8 (as a lot of people don't join 1.7.10 servers) But idk. I would make it for 1.8 :p
I probably shouldn't be speaking for @emwa xD It's just that he hasn't been on bukkit for like 4 hours :p

Idek where to get 1.8 from. Spigot, maybe?

    Solaris_88

Yeah, spigot has had a 1.8 jr file out for a while now.

@dsouzamatt If you want I can link you with spigot 1.8
Also I am sure you can create it for 1.7.10 if you really want to. 1.7.10 plugins usually work on 1.8 servers.

@Solaris_88 I'm unfamiliar with building from Spigot in any case; I'll use Bukkit 1.7.10 for now.

Ok xD 1.7.10 plugins should work with 1.8 anyway. Sorry :p Sp*got isn't supposed to be mentioned here :p I completely forgot and wasn't thinking xD

Wait what? I've known people who have been banned for mentioning spigot. And I've seen mods tell people not to mention spigot here.

    Also, @eyamaz
Why was this moved to Alternatives?

That was before Curse took over.

Moved to Alternatives because we do not have an official 1.8 build.

    Hello dsouzamatt!
Thank you!!!! I can't wait to see the finished results!
And yes, I would like it to be 1.8 ;) But I think most 1.7.10 plugins works on 1.8?

Haha thx solaris! You kept the thread going ;) What you have said is just what I thought:))

@Solaris_88 @emwa The plugin is done!

    Download it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5okvsold7etfb2o/AltarCommands.jar?dl=0

    INSTRUCTIONS
    Creating an altar
    1.
Issue the command /altar create . To do this, you will need to have the permission altar.create

In a similar way to selecting a cuboid region in WorldGuard:
    2. Right click one corner of your altar
    3. Right click the opposite corner of your altar

A message will be displayed telling you that your altar has been created. You can create as many altars as you like.

    Adding a command
    1.
Issue the command /altar addcommand . To do this, you will need to have the permission altar.addcommand
    2. Make sure that your inventory contains the item(s) that you would like to set as the sacrifice for the command
    3. Issue your chosen command (e.g. /time set day)

A message will be displayed telling you that the command you just issued can now be cast by throwing the sacrifice that you set onto an altar.

    Using an altar
    • Throw the items for a command's corresponding sacrifice onto an altar. When all required items are sacrificed, the command will be automatically run by the server
    • To retrieve unused items from an altar, left-click on it
    • Altars are immune to being built upon or broken by players who do not have the permission altar.modify
    Deleting an altar
Ensure you have the permission altar.modify . You can then break any block of an altar to destroy it.

    Deleting a command
    1.
Issue the command /altar delcommand . To do this, you will need to have the permission altar.delcommand
    2. Issue the command that you wish to be deleted

If the command has been registered with the plugin, a message will be displayed to notify you that it has been deleted

Hopefully that all makes sense /\

If you have any problems, or need some other features added, let me know.

Thank you sooooo much!!!! I will start using it at once!! :D:D:D
But i was wondering if the commands that are created would work for other altars too, or is it just the one that it is created in?

The commands work for every altar.
