Craftbukkit v.1.6.4 vs. Minecraft v.1.8

Does this mean that we can't use the latest version of Craftbukkit on our v.1.8 Minecraft server?

Your updater is only looking at 'Recommended Builds' (RB).
There are other up-to-date builds but they will fall under categories like Beta or Alpha and it would appear that your updater (McMyAdmin?) only looks at recommended builds (RB).
If you go here you'll find a listing of all possible builds you can use. (first time ever i've seen page is currently down - legal issue? - hopefully corrected soon)
Keep in mind updating your craftbukkit version could see many plugins not work correctly until they too are updated to match your craftbukkit version.

To always run the latest Minecraft version (with bukkit) you'll need to stay on top of Craftbukkit releases. Often the bukkit file you want to stay up-to-date with MC versions will NOT be the Recommended Build (RB) but a Beta build.

 

There is no Bukkit for 1.8. Use Bukkit RB for 1.6.4 or betas for 1.7.x.

 

How do I install the Bukkit RB for 1.6.4 or 1.7.9 beta that you speak of, using McMyAdmin...

 

DRNERD27 I do not use MCMA, so I don't know. I also doubt you can install it right now, due to ongoing legal issues, so please wait.

 

There's a setting in the configuration tab to use beta releases.
