Suggested Plugin category: Utility Suggested Plugin name: OwnerOp commands: /owners (list OpList Players) and OpToggle (toggle your AutoOp for testing perms etc) Ideas for permissions: OwnerOp.list and OwnerOp.toggle should Default To Everyone When I'd like it by: within one week
SmilerRyan Wait so if someone gets deopped they instantly get opped again? What if someone tricked an admin and got op they could never be deopped.
SmilerRyan If you want to "test perms and stuff" that has to be tested while being de-opped and maybe in other permission groups, why don't you just add bukkit.command.op.give to yourself? That way you can op yourself again, when you're done testing...
you would change the allow list and then reload the server, then they would not get opped. with the optoggle they can decide if they want to get opped back after getting deopped, and this has no effect to anyone else and will only op them if they are in he allow list.
SmilerRyan I am not going to work on this just because you can give yourself op with console and also another op can always op you.
But what is a greifer is on the server with op and decides to deop everyone? then you cant ban him fast enough and then the server will be doomed. as you might not have time to keep opping yourself, and this would be helpful on servers without permissions plugins.
if you dont want to do this maybe just a simple and light lightweight plugin with /superop and /desuperop (Default to console only and it gives you permission *) no configs are needed unless you find a way to implement them. i will do with typing the command when i restart/reload the server for now
that's what i am saying, if you don't want to make an automatic plugin, just a small plugin that can be used by console for perm *
SmilerRyan That perm isn't something that you should use. My advice: get a permissions plugin, make your groups, give yourself ( not the group ) the permission: permissions.* ( for pex at least ) Now you are able to change your own groups without needing OP.
SmilerRyan I can try and make it for you I suppose but I'm just getting started with java. So what you want is, when you do /superop <player> it gives them '*'?
SmilerRyan Well if you are worried about someone deop people from the server and grief it, why not just make a region with permissions, then add members to that region? You can add flags like permission to build in that region and etc. This way you have total control over who is building and they will not have permission to remove members in that region.
SmilerRyan I'm afraid I have to agree with bradster on this one. This really is stupid and would be a complete waste of time creating. If a griefer comes to your server and manages to get OP, you shouldn't be running a server.
dentych you are right but then they will have to have fun trying to access the console to use /superop.
SmilerRyan No one is going to make it because and I mean this in the best way possible its stupid, as people have already said.
